ca18det install

im considerng a ca over an sr after doing some research. i was wondering how a ca would fit into my 90 sohc? easier or harder install then an sr? how muhc customer work and new parts would be needed? ect ect.
anything anyone can tell me before it would be a fully functional turn key setup.

Matty

Pretty much exactly the same as an SR swap, except that you end up with less power and more money in your pocket afterwards.

As for power increases, the SR is much easier (read: cheaper) to bring up to 300-400hp

My buddy Rafic in Ottawa does a lot of CA swaps, you can contact him at onemeanpulsar@hotmail.com

thanks alot,
i appretiate it.

ive owned a ca
ive driven kat on track
ive driven sr on track

i now have a ka in my car.

ca can be decent on a budget but they are torquless down low like a rotary.

sr’s are good if you have money.

kat’s are good if you can do your own wrenching.

does that mean theyre easy or hard to fix by urself

means you may be doing a few random allnighter swaps if you dont do it right.

i recomend the ca18det. i did this swap to my 90 240 last summer. very easy install, direct bolt in. if ur on a tight budget like i am its cheaper than an sr20 and is only 30 hp less. with a front mount intercooler and a little more boost u will have ur sr20 power with a better bottom end.
