cost to power: turbo vs supercharger

You people are so obsessed with brake boosting

You are so obsessed with not roll racing on the highway… :stuck_out_tongue:

Im gonna buy the first person who throws a rod brake boosting a lollipop.

4.10 gears are the absolute worst for a street turbo application. Stock gears or lower would be best. The motor has to be loaded to build boost with a turbo. (4.10) gears reduce that loading SIGNIFICANTLY. Your gears suck for a turbo.
It doesnt work the same way as for a SC or nitrous.

You may need to brake boost a 2 liter honda but you sure wont have to with the exhaust gas flow and volume from a 5 liter ford motor.

Doesnt matter which tranny you use. Your goal of 400hp is nothing special that requires you to worry about the tranny. If you want to drag then the auto is the way to go. Easier on you and the drivetrain. It will also last much longer then a clutch would.

A bolt on supercharger should easily get you to 400. Cheaper and MUCH simpler. Either way you go with stock internals a intercooler is REQUIRED.

brake boosting a lollypop? :stuck_out_tongue: at least it’s a “stick”.
