cover deep scratches on headers???

hey, on my friend’s 1997 Prelude, he scratched his ceramic headers(DC Sports) pretty badly, he was driving, and didnt notice a dip and scratched the headers, like sparks flew out n all that…anyway there are some pics below…is there something to cover that with or anything? there’s no holes or anything, but just looks really bad…any compound that can be sprayed on that is tough n possibly winter resistant?

pics are here:

raw metal… etching primer? just to protect it.

An etching primer is still porous and will not “protect” the metal from rusting.

another coat of just paint over it. too.

I mean, I wouldn’t leave just primer by itself anywhere but, say inside my rocker, which is what I did with my inner rockers, I needed a weld through in my case.

You can get a primer like POR-15 that should protect the metal and provide an easy application.

But I agree, with anything you “care” about, I wouldn’t leave regular primer…
