lol. I haven’t had any issues on my 99. The one above was a 97 GXE.
I was driving with it on cruise at 76mph and I had a nice new Saab next to me. I looked down to pick up some change from the cup holder for the Exit 23 tolls (it was literally a quick glanced) and next thing I know I hear a loud bang, my hood is up, and my car is completely off. It’s a good thing I didn’t slam on my brakes or swerve the wheel out of surprise/reaction cause I woulda took that Saab with me and it would have been MUCH worse.
I must admit…18yr old kid with his “first real car” that I paid for myself…I actually cried when I got out to look at the damage. lol.
i hit a deer once, in a pick up. we threw it in the back and brought it home… yes i lived in a sort of redneck area.
i ran some deer over with the GTI, all through montana and north dakota in late spetember, I90 is covered in deer remains. the underside of my car looked like the picture clark posted… it was pretty bad.
My deer disintegrated into bits too but I didn’t have NEARLY that much blood in my car. I had a lot of hair/fur though.
If I recall correctly…I hit it, then ran over it…but the details are a little unclear cause I never really saw it. State trooper did a U and shined his light…I clearly saw deer remains scattered all over the place.
Interesting night. I was coming from home from Syracuse and it was like 3:30am.
I’m telling you guys, jumping them is the best way. I hit Bambi’s mom at 85+mph and all I did was lose a bumper and rad. Bambi’s mom was the size of a damn clydesdale too.
