CSCS Season Finale - Sept. 26

don’t worry bro.

he put a ratchet strap in.

but I agree.

CSCS needs to figure out what they are doing with the organization.

As many as of the events that have happened, you think it would be down to a science.

Didnt know i had to have a aftermarket seat too.

Anyhow, a flaker flaked on me for a pair of belts, the night before.

I prepaid, i didnt want to lose out, and was confident enough to drive within my limits to not allow a wreck to happen.

Thanks tho.

I wasnt the only one with a roll bar that wasnt wearing a proper skull cover.

I guess some of us are too eager to compete. I just put the car together and a peice of shit kijiji seller fucked me, oh well.

Is the fact that others were out there without the proper equipment supposed to excuse you? The point of safety equipment is in case of an incident. Suspension failure, tire failure, dirt drop that breaks a link sends you rolling through the grass, etc. It’s not a “hey you might want to have this” it’s a “YOU SHOULD HAVE THIS”. Safety is planning for the worst possible scenario, not “oh I drive within my limits nothing will happen” that’s how people get injured/killed… kinda like when someone looses it and eventually goes through those bails of hay and plows into the crowd. I’m AMAZED the organizers don’t have a fence up to keep the crowd out of a hot track.

I want to add people rolling ebrake slides through the pit/paddock/spectator areas to the list of stupid ass shit that I saw Sunday.

Where is the common sense people?

common sense was the woman in the run off area with a baby stroller. she then ditches the stroller 20ft back and holds the baby where she was originally standing.

the judges shouldnt have allowed people to stand there after they didnt listen. the whole event seemed to be really unorganized, and the judges (noT the posse) were extremely unprofessional.

just my .02

-The judges judge drifting…sorry for your confusion if you would like to judge next year ask chris and tell him how to run the even seeing as most of you know better and will do a better job. as for safety seat belts are mandatory, we should have disqualified you flake or no flake but I’m sure you guys will be able to run the show better next year?

All I have to say is ppl signed there life away for a reason ppl do have sense about their safety so why should you be worried about them? I’m pretty sure they know the risks??? If you don’t like it don’t watch, let ppl be stupid on their own time cuz you didn’t have to be there… More stupid accidents are caused on the street than on the track IMO. Just my 2cents, if no one likes it i don’t care it go suck an egg!

Lets not forget how many times we had the announcers tell everyone in the crowd to get behind the wall… if they don’t listen what are we supposed to do stop the event? - not our job

Physically go move them, there should have been a fence anyway. People don’t listen. If you are “running” the event then it IS your job.

Do you enjoy using TMP’s facilities? Do you like going to CSCS?

Because the FIRST TIME someone overcooks that corner and goes into the crowd I assure you TMP will be facing a lawsuit and CSCS will never happen again.

Wasnt talking about the crowd… those people dont listen regardless. If thats your main complaint then I agree with you 100% but no matter how many times you tell them they wont listen. Even some of the photographers get close to the action and not stand behind the barrier…

video of Josh Smith almost getting railed by chris delacruz last time in the e30

That was jokes.

Yeah the problem with having all those boneheads stand unprotected over there is that there is no completely obvious sole responsibility for their safety when they enter the event. I.e. no large signs saying “motorsports is dangerous enter at your own risk” ,

and although totally not feasible, due to speed of doing it… if you will be in the paddock/pits (such as at a club racing event) all those entering have to sign a waiver for responsibility in case of accident.

Only pet peeve I had was at the end of the day had a bunch of honduh hard parkers block myself and friends in 110%, like where is the respect for other people, there was no room to park there in the first place.

Oh well.

It shouldnt be your job at all, as judges you guys were doing your job. There should have been event staff there to keep people back, it takes one drift car to go into a crowd and drifting get blown up in the media as being too dangerous.

lol, the event is highly unorganized. Did you see how long it took to get into the park… Took me about 40 min. That was insane. How hard is it to take $20 from people and direct where they go.

The judging was flawless, These are pro’s who know what it takes to win and how you should do it so I leave fully credibility with the posse and who ever else was up there. As for the announcers they did a good job Unprofessional or not I couldnt hear anytihng myselff but these guys get the crowd going. CSCS never used to have anyone on the mic during drifting, fuck some people didnt even know when a car was comming into the corner untill they heard the tires squeeling. As for CSCS being unorganized, I know at times it can seem like that because the schedule is never on time but these guys run around all day trying to keep everything from comming unglued. I dont even think Chris (krazykoncepts) even gets a chance to watch drifting or drag becuase hes so fucking busy he never stops. As for the line up at the gate, what happens at the tim hortons drive through at 8am…its fucking rammed. Give the girls a break they are just doing thier job. One thing i do think should be changed is the area in which the fans are allowed to stand. That first corner is high speed and if my ebrake failed i know id be cooking through those bails near 100kph. My friends dont even stand there, they are in the bed of my truck or standing on my trailer. People need to realise…its going to fucking hurt when the first car comes through, if you even see it with the cloud of hay. anyways im heading to school, CSCS does a wicked job and im impressed considering this is ontarios only amatuer drifting series, they give guys like me a chance to show there stuff and ive met tons of new friends over the past few years and i just want to say thankyou for another great season.

Agreeing with Cody I’d also like to focus on the point of the Judges. The “Judges” aren’t the announcers! Edmund is the “Judge” everyone gets mad at. Him on the Mic. is honestly, even though he’s my friend and all, is a bad idea. He gets cars, names, points, who wins, who did what, EVERYTHING wrong. When the judges (Drift Posse <3) throw up their score and say who wins it seems like Edmund, despite having someone spin out twice, looks to the crowd for help as if they’re the judge.

He doesn’t know drifting, and when he comments on how someone “has a wicked backfire, that will get them some points” it tells the audience that the guy with more smoke, less angle, less speed, not hitting clipping points and a cooler car will win. When really the Judges have already scored out their points and the driver who ACTUALLY had his speed right, hit the clipping points, stayed in his line and DIDN’T spin out TWICE would have actually won, instead of the crowd choosing 2 one more times because the announcer looks to them for an answer. The crowd doesn’t know what’s going on, everyone thinks the person they know should win regardless of how good or how bad they are. It’s the announcers job (Edmund) to inform and bring them into how things are SUPPOSED to go.

Brad, Pat, I have no clue what you guys talk to Edmund about up there but it seems like he doesn’t even listen to your scoring, instead looks to the crowd for an answer.

Summary… The posse holds the judging down.

CSCS is a super good time, and I’m always happy with the turnout/overall experience. I think 100% it could be run BETTER, but as for an AM event… its the best one we’ve got in ontario.

and confident or not… you need a fucking SEAT belt to compete.

For those of you that say the event is completely unorganized we are always open to have more volunteers so send me your contact info and you can help us out next year, its much appreciated.

as for the people already part of the organization. I hope everyone realizes that the event is run with volunteers (you cant make money on events like this even with volunteers) so give them a break.

As for safety concerns that is a major issue that will be addressed over the winter. Our rulebooks state it but the enforcement has not been happening. We will no longer have a line of people on the outside of the first corner, drivers (and passengers) MUST wear helmets at all times or they are disqualified no EXCEPTIONS, the seatbelt issue is the first i heard about that and its just scary.

We will be holding a drivers meeting at some point over the winter to address this with the drivers. But the competition has got a lot better and the safety has to be stepped up. I would also like to know how many of you drivers would consider putting in a cage for next season

I think the cage thing will hurt the scene. Alot of the drivers cannot afford a acage, let alone have two cars. Insurance, trucks, gas and trailers along with 3000$ in a cage adds up, most of us, including my self for quite some time were in the position where scrounging and saving for each event and upkeep is a burden, the cage thing would ruin it for many of us.

Chris that’s dope but you also have to consider that most of our cars are daily driven and we don’t have money for cage, truck and trailer. I think if cages are a must next year the turn out for drifting will be smaller IMO. You know I’m always down to help out in anyway possible though, so give me a shout whenever homeslice.

LAWL Dylan beat me to posting…

Glad to hear you guys are planning on taking the necessary steps. I walked over and saw that most of the things I’m bringing up were posted in the rules inside the main tent/trailer. Just that no one cared to follow or enforce them. 15kph I believe is what you guys have set for pit speed?

Personally, I’d just start throwing people out who speed/ebrake slide in pit/paddock areas/rip donuts in the grass. Endanger others? See ya later!
