never could figure out why people just go full throttle once they go off track, like wtf.
I was referring to people in the PIT AREA doing donuts in the grass. Not out on track.
I can only imagine how hard it is to try and contain that much raging testosterone, but the cscs guys keep everyone happy for the most part. Chris, you do an awesome job every event, and that’s why you always have such a great turnout. But tape or a wall needs needs NEEDS to be put up outside of turn one for next year. There were actually a few times when I came around the left kink quickly before the final corner (during time attack) when I thought to myself it wouldn’t be too far fetched to imagine losing it here, as you’re loaded up and trying to brake / downshift and get the car rotated for the last corner. It only takes one. I can only imagine when you’re coming from the other direction, that much closer.
Helmets should be mandatory for all passengers, and anyone under 18 driving. Drivers at least are “in control” so if they want to risk it, so be it.
That’s just my opinion!
Ya cages wouldn’t go over very well with alot of people as the cheapest I have heard for a proper cage is $2000
With that being said, judging this year has been much better than previous years but I think they need to look at the rules a little better.
I was told and read from day one that there has to be atleast a 5 car gap between the 2 cars as there is no cages and it’s cscs way of drifting safely…
Also going 80km/h+ approaching turn one then ebraking it and dropping speeds down to 60km/h doesnt mean there a better drifter.
Going 60km/h into turn one clutch kicking making it go sideways and holding it while picking up speed I think would be a better drift??? (am i wrong)
I don’t know but I hear way different things come from people then what happen and no one else can back it up, I am just lost as is it favoritism or what?
Just my 2 cents but whatever CSCS is the only form of compitition in ontario for any sort of racing sport
Testosterone <B
What I see is that more drivers are getting more comfortable with each other so they choose to tandem alot closer. This makes for some intense battles and the competition alot more exciting.
seriously, clutch kicking is usually only used when you’re going into the corner too slow or when your RPM’s are dropping. I mean, if you’re fainting into the corner and initiation with a clutch to just get the torque to the wheels would be proper. But entering slow and clutch kicking into the corner and “relying” on the power to carry speed through isn’t really drifting in my opinion; just and exaggerated “donut”. Hell, If I had an ebrake I’d be ebrake entry all the time to get faster entry speeds and enter a little bit earlier. This is what keeps the underpowered cars on par with the bigger horsepower cars. Faster Entries > Slow power over techniques.
This last cscs event, the skill level was vastly improved from the previous events. Most were entering faster and earlier, maintaining drift around that entire carousel (turn 1, turn 2).
Judges did a phonemenal job judging the event. I can’t wait until next year.
^^words right outta my mouth…
Ya they did good but ebrake dont always work with some people, clutch kicking works great and if you have the power use it.
Ebraking might look like your going fast but when it comes to the actual speed it aint there cuz you loose a good amount braking the rear tires.
Ohwell, hopefully someone will put on another drift day that way I can test the new toy to see if I like it better than my s-chassis…
lack of funds and time have kept me from any drift days this year
