It is sales related and I already catch enough shit for driving a 2005 Infiniti…People and their perceptions are wild.
E39 M5 would be my choice. I’ve always had a soft spot for that car.
i guess i just dont get it and ill leave it at that.
you have an SUV with plenty of room and AWD capabilities for when you need it.
also its a god damn corvette not a gt40 or a 275gtb

if youre a salesman and want to keep it low key then you better buy a taurus ecoboost
any higher end german car = perceived wealth
I know its tough to explain but when I have two cars that do too many things the same…for example my TT Mustang and a Z06 Vette, I wouldnt have the mixed use I am trying to achieve.
However, a Corvette with 4 doors, heated seats, and a comfortable ride…sounds good to me for days where I dont want the screamin demon open Dumps and when I am bored with driving an automatic SUV

As do I, but It seems so dated in certain aspects and admittedly, I have not had the best luck with German Cars…Porsche, BMWs, and and Audi
And as far as actually taking it to work, I dont think I would very often, I have a few clients that are car people, so thats always fun, but on the whole it would transfer the FX into a work only vehicle and the CTS V or whatever it may be will be my after hours/weekend “daily”
Then stick with 4 door performance options.
CTS-V fits all that
V8 S4 is  but you could ditch the stang put more money down and go B8 S4
M5 also fits all that
i guess i can understand the two similiar car scenario
i also see that you are pretty much decided on the cts lol
oh and for the record i must be the ONLY one who absolutely loved my v8 s4.
maybe cause it was an avant or perhaps cause it only had 18k when i bought it?
either way it was a blast to drive all year round, excellent interior, made cool sounds and had a decent amount of pep.
I would take the 2007 3 series off the list unless you get an extended diamond premium ultra warranty
You could always go G37S sedan in 6spd/rwd
However I still vote CTS-V can’t beat the performance for the money and reliability
I just cant get into the looks of the G series Sedans
VW R32
Audi A5 (may be a bit over budget)
535xi
G37
All good in their own right but the VW is a bit too small for what I like, my mom has an A5 and I love it, but I cant have the same car as my mom! 535Xi is a nice car, but I dont know if it is as performance oriented as I might like and the G37 doesnt do anything for me.
CTS V - Enough said
535 has the same engine as the 335 so a few simple mods and youre 400hp with a plush AWD sedan (if you decide to go XI)
but i say the cts is clearly what youre going to end up getting
The BMW just has too much maint. associated with it. There are some great ones for sale, but the turbo concerns and maint. schedule might be more than I am wanting to take on at the moment.
What about an e60 550i m sport 6sp? Easily had under $20k
I like e39 M5 but seems like maintenance on them can be high, not as bad as the V8 S4s though. The M3 doesn’t seem that bad though.
I also saw a few 650i manuals that I really liked but the german maint. is a little crazy if something goes wrong
i dont think any option but the ctsv stood a chance from the start of this thread
Based on what?
I am trying to get the most car for the money with the least amount of headaches after the fact.
If all of that points to the CTSv, then that is the way to go I would imagine.
I assume you haven’t driven a V1? Great cars and I loved my first one, but they wheel-hop like a champ. Too many heaters and you will be shopping for a diff. Updated/graded diff was a big improvement, but still not something you want to be hard launching on the regular.
Never owned the rest of the cars listed but if you have any questions on the V let me know.
Edit: Set of accessory wheels, smoked sidemarkers, clear fogs and they look fairly current. Corsa exhaust sounds great.
I remember the first time I opened the door of a first gen CTS-V… I looked inside and it was instant:
535 with the sports pack and tuned would kill the g37. My 545 stick was awesome basically the same as the 550i. The passing power you had in 6th was incredible. Way more than a stock 335. And with the m-sport its just a sexy car.
