damn lights

my night lights work both sides, but the daytime running lights is my problem, only the driver side works, now today i tried switching bulbs, thinking it was the bulb, not the case, both bulbs work in the driver side(day and night) passenger only works night, i looked at the fuses, they all seem fine, wtf??? i am stumped, where do i start from here? i looked at the wiring leaving my light but i seems to run into the frame, not for sure though

tap on your dtrl module, if they light up, you know what to replace

ya its most likely the relay.(module)

??? no idea what your talking about?

theres should be a little brown box with 2 electrical connectors going to it. should be near one of the four corners under your hood, if i recall correctly, it’ll be beside your battery, but im not sure, i havent had to replace one in a long time

thats where mine is. right beside the battery.

i have a fuse box right beside my battery, but i’ll look for it, if thats the problem, whas it take to fix?

Digs Up FSM covered in dust and oil

DTRL Module is… In the passenger Cabin, Passenger Side on the far right side by the foot rest… According to picture is should be just in front of the door

Thats if they decided to put it in the same spot back in 1995… this is a 1993 manual.

Hope that helps

so is it behind a panel? i looked and did’nt see anything, i am assuming it is behind that panel just inside.

Nissan’s right and left headlights are on separate circuits. It takes 2 relays for the DRL’s. I don’t know why people buy those shitty DRL module when you can go to P-Auto and spend $3 on 2 relays and just give it ign power ground and tap to your day time lights. It’s so fucking simple and cheap. But ya on your mod there should be 2 relays maybe 1 I donno but its not giving switch power to the light not coming on. Might be a break in your harness someplace? Lots of the time more common on Skylines its the switch in the dash. So if you fix the problem at your light your most likely to need a new switch or you COULD just tap into the same circuit as the working light on the switch. If you need a switch give me a holla, I have them in stock. Good luck

ok i might do that, seems more simple

While on the topic of Headlights, anyone know how to turn off the DTRLs? I mean make it so they can be turned off but on again…

run a switch on what ever power you have on your relay. I know IGN power is tough to find in your engine bay as everything is ACC so just whatever your using run a switch to it inside the car.

Its damn hard to find, been staring at electrical diagrams for about 3 days now… all i see is wires… everywhere… :drinkers:

I was figiring that i could tap the line at the fuse box for the LH and RH fuses and splice a switch into there, i’d prefere some other method of this, Relay/etc, since they are 10Amps and the last thing i need to do is fry myself because of wiring…

i am still having trouble finding that dthl or whatever thing, fallen where in the book does it show the item?

Passenger side, just in front of the door. It should be behind the plastic piece there… I’ll see if i can get a scan of the page… does a better job of showing

If this doesnt help, then… i dunno…

that is exactly where i was thinking, thanks so much, i am going to check tomorrow after work, thanks again

you guys are like gods among mortals, that switch was the problem and the pic that fallen gave was a bullseye, now does anyone know how much it is?

anyone know if i buy hid’s will they be affected by this switch? mills wants like 200 for this switch, now if hid’s won’t be affected i might as well just buy some
