I have this really annoying problem with my Daytime running lights that I can’t seem to solve, and need a help.
Basically my DTRL went out roughly 2 weeks ago. I was driving normally when all of a sudden I hear this clicking noise coming from inside the engine bay, I pop the hood open, and it was coming from the fuse box area. The problem persisted when ever I started the car and release the hand brake.
I did not notice my DTRL were out until driving during the night I notice that both my drivers side high and low beams did not work. My passenger side works fine. I have check the fuses and the relays and it doesn’t seem to be the problem.
When I push the panic button for the alarm all my lights are suppose to come on but the funny thing is that the drivers side high beam, and the passenger side low beam comes out the other 2 (drivers low beam and passenger high beam) do not.
I have come to the conclusion that it is the Daytime light control unit that is causing the problem but my friend says it could be coming from the light switch behind the dash. I do not want to take out the whole dash to check to find that it is not the problem.
Sorry for the long read again here are the main problems:
DTRL non-operational
When switching to on low beams the passenger side lights up only
When switching to high beams only passenger comes on only
When activating the panic system drivers side high beam and passenger low beam comes on only. It suppose to activate all the lights to flash.
Please any insight into the possible solution would be greatly appreciated.
perhaps its the wires that connect the L and the R light together , my dads altima had the same problem , and he took it to some guy he knows, and the guys sed that one of the wires were faulty , hope that helps
my van sort of does that… when driving a clicking noise is heard above the pedals where the DTRL relay is and at night you can see the orange lights going on and off, we changes the relay once, but it still does it…
okie…u can pm or email me and i can arrange a time to get it fix for u…since i know headlight system from head to toe…i have hook up my drl light to my kouki’s foglight…basically the headlight system for s14 kouki (low beam) is… light switch to thru relay…then both low beam…but driver side low beam is ground off to the driver side high beam…and back to drl system…man so difficult to type it out…well i don’t know u understand or not…but in a simple explantion…left head light (driver side) …low beam get power from lightswitch and relay…but…both high and low beam are attach the ground signal from drl…and right headlight (pass side)…power on signal r from lightswitch…and so is highbeam…but for drl…there is a power wire which from drl to left headlight then to right headlight…try to check both headlight fuses first…if not email me and i can arrange a time to check it for u…cheap!
