i found a datsun 510 in very good shape, not so good mechanically. the price is very cheap as well. i am considering buying it as a project car. im just wondering how hard is it to swap a KA, SR, CA, or an RB into it? how much would something like that cost me to drop in?
if it is the 510 that is a 4 door and for sale on 780, it is not in good shape. Too much fiberglass and if you looked closer you should stay away. It has less rust than your old 240 tho.
The biggest problem with those cars is the space in the front. Just get an L20 out of a pick-up and build that. ~220 hp NA for cheap is the best you can do.

It is not very “easy” to do a big swap in there. You have to refab the cross-member and do some tranny tunnel work to get the SR to fit. Just forget about anything large than a 4 cylinder, unless you have some mad skillz and money.
there are convertion kits for sr ka and ca fj for the 510 that can be ordered from aussie. bolt in.
