I’m honestly addicted to caffeine. I simply cannot function without it and it’s getting worse-I’m more reliant on it than ever, and it’s taking more than ever to make myself functional.
I never drank coffee/energy drinks at all when I was younger. I’ve drank soda on a somewhat regular basis, in various amounts my entire life, but never for the caffeine, just like the flavor. When I was ~25, I tried some original Stacker 2 (ECA stack), loved it, and have ‘experimented’ with all kinds of iterations of caffeinated products since. What’s funny though, is that for the most part, pure coffee (just caffeine) gives me the most energy, and makes me crash the hardest.
Anyone else have a similar relationship with caffeinated products? The last time I intentionally went a day without it, I could fall asleep on command, more irritable than normal, could not think straight, etc…
I drink on average a cup of coffee a day for the last 6 years.
I don’t do it to get energy as I can and do easily fall asleep after drinking any amount.
Love the flavor and likely my beverage of choice for most occasions.
I go black or sometimes cream, can’t stand sugar in it.
While I don’t think I’m addicted I get headaches if I dont leave the house all day. And if I do leave I’ll be getting a coffee every time. So hard to tell if it’s coffee or house.
I could try to make coffee at house to isolate the issue :rofl
I was hooked hard on Coffee. It doesn’t affect me like keeping me awake or making me sleepy if I don’t drink enough, I just like the taste. When I was living in Vermont and working in Schenectady in the 90’s I used to drink 3-4 16oz Stewarts coffees on the way to work every day and more on the way home. One day I just didn’t feel like having coffee that day. By the middle of the day I had a bad headache. I took Advil, didn’t help. I took aspirin, didn’t do a thing either. By the end of the day my head was throbbing like someone was hitting me in the head with a hammer. I drove home planning to go right to bed. When I got home there was a pot of coffee was already made. I had a cup and within 10 minutes my headache was gone! I knew I was an addict!
I use to Love MT Dew. Id drink alot of it everyday and if i did not have a can or a glass every few hrs my head would just pound.
I just said fuck it one day and stopped. It took about 2wks to get over and now all i drink is Water, Milk and OJ. I feel way better and its cheaper lololol
( Now if i have a glass of soda when im out to eat and its 8pm it keeps me awake all night unlike befor)
Best thing in the world you can do for yourself Travis is get off of it completely, feel like a piece of shit for a week or two and let your body get back to normal. Every year it seems I need to “detox” from caffeine for a little while as it becomes useless for me.
Get off the caffeine for awhile, it won’t be easy and you’ll probably have headaces up the ass and sleep like a bear in hibernation but after awhile you will start to feel great, if you want to start drinking caffeine again, don’t use it so much or so often. Have a cup of coffee or tea in the morning but try not to be slamming coffee and energy drinks all day.
Gotta agree with shady. I was taking a lot too, the pre workout supplements didn’t help since they are so bloated with caffeine. Just drop them Travis, it’s gonna suck. You gotta take them away slowly and just deal with the withdrawl/headaches.

I would say 3-5 times a week i get up drive to the store and get a Monster, Redbull, Rockstar, what ever. Sip on that until lunch time at the office. If I didnt get a “energy” drink I get a med cofee from dunken across the street. At lunch I get food and a soda. Rest of the day I sip on the soda. Dinner time I eat and drink a beer, or if I am at the shop a soda or another energy drink if i have one. Daily I get all of 6 hours of sleep.
Never once have I felt the physical or chemical “need” to get an energy drink, soda, or coffee. never once have I “crashed” either.
Maybe I dont drink enough of the stuff??? Or my skinny ass has some bad ass metabolism or some shit and eats it up faster than I drink it down?
You don’t drink enough, thats nothing compared to my “normal” day over the past 6 months. Your body like any other drug becomes dependent on it, it expects it and when it doesnt get it, it says FUCK YOU
I drink ~6 cups of coffee a day with at least 2 20OZ redbulls… not counting maybe a soda in there, not proud of it at all, its royally fucking up my body, but it gets out of control and you don’t even realzie it.
If i don’t have a cup of coffee when I wake up, or wait til mid morning, i get the worst headache thats damn near impossible to recover from…
This will be the 3rd-4th time ive started to ween myself off of caffeine, this time around im going to make sure I do not go overboard with it again. Going to stop drinking soda, decaff coffee in the morning, maybe a cup of tea throughout the day if I really need it, but in more ways then one energy drinks seriously fuck up your body.
thats a write up on cafine withdrawl…it looks like a hard drug to me from side effects. and they say mary jane is a gate way drug…hahahah most kids i know start on caffine
Its the caffeine. I have the exact same issue and have gone over it with my old Doctor. Either you can cut back on coffee- try an almost full cup then back down to 3/4 cup or 1/2 cup to keep the caffeine in check, OR you can just drink coffee every day and take Tylenol for headaches when you don’t drink coffee. I took option two. Fuck it. I don’t want my biggest regret to be “I wish I wasn’t such a coffee pussy” when I’m on my death bed. DD large, just sugar for LIFE.
