i’ll be honest and say i skipped reading the second half of this thread considering it started going downhill already…
i’m an administrator on another board, so i know first-hand what these guys have to deal with. there’s never a shortage of dickheads who start drama just for the sake of drama itself, and not for any reason of actual importance. hell, even i’m guilty of this every once in a while, as are most people. it’s the people who cause trouble on a regular basis that need the boot.
long story short - there will always be morons stirring the pot, no matter how many mods are present. if mods are too nice, people complain about being partial or biased towards certain people. if mods are too strict, people complain saying that the mods are being assholes.
no matter what the mods do, good job or bad, they will never be able to make everybody happy. someone will always have something to complain about and give their two cents cough this thread for example.
also, as mentioned by a couple of people, some form of user filtering is great… in a perfect world - but in reality this won’t work.
i think the mods are doing a good job, and recruiting the people in the list Solarian provided wouldn’t be a bad idea. so to anyone who has anything to say against the current team, i’ll tell you what i tell everyone else who says i’m a dick admin - if you don’t like the way things are run here, find another board to post on. these people dedicate their time and resources to keep this site running, so show a bit of respect. no-one is forcing you to be here, it’s a privilege not a right.
edit: and just for the record, i’m not attacking fastback - i’m just making a general statement.
ill agree with the region moderators, one for every place. that sounds good to me.
the region mods should be responsible for the mebers that fall under there region.
im also an admin on another site and i do understand what they are trying to do. im not saying down with the site im saying lets think of somthing to improve it and take the nessisary steps.
headway is only made with the compunitys input IMO
your just mad cause you and all the other noobs got ban’d when you were all making fun of randy rashide. i find everything to be fine yeah some stuff i see gets by when other stuff doesnt but what ever, 2 active mods isnt enough to baby sit couple thousand kids but its not that bad
the one thing i beleive is most ignorrant is the reason people come to SON in the first place…

i dont care if someone once a week post a “how do i swap out my BMC for a new one?” thread… ill type up a list on how to do it, or ill give them the link to were the information is located that alone is helpful and resonsable…
saying “fail” or “SEARCH” has nothing to do with this site, yes the information can be found threw the pain in the ass methods of searching diffrent key words a dozen times but who cares
saying “NOOB” is the worst, they ask for your help. like a big kid helping a lil kid to ride his bike and not just looking at him with the bike and saying “you cant figure it out? whats wrong loser”
im not saying we need a million repetitive threads, but one person jumping on the tread posting a link with some tips is smart, jumping on with 50 other people and causeing shit is just idiotic…
i think moderation has to be made to ban or dicipline people whom are constantly abusive to novice 240 owners…
cause ill be honest, if i want a cool LOCAL site i go to SON240sx.
if i want information of anykind… NicoClub seems to be the place, not to many asshole there.

i think alot of people just have to remeber why there here and why they joined to begin with.
i have little interest in responding directly to any concerns in this thread.
here’s why:
years ago the accusation was the there were not enough events and no sponsors and too much drama.
here we are years later with more events than any other car club on earth… Onyx, MTD and Dip’s track days all hosting a half dozen events per year, plus CSCS and D-Ops and DMCC… basically 8 events a month… so many that people cant actually afford to take part in them all
there are a dozen sponsors that paid comparatively little where other forums are considered. I would suspect that these vendors would give SON a rating of 3-6 out of ten with respect to how well the members support them.
there is very little drama with no BAS, TM, etc. etc.
depsite addressing all those concerns people still complain…
here is me being the ignorant asshole that i often am, i am totally genuine when i say this and i mean it in the most hurtful and helpful way to each and every one of you…
shut the fuck up… figure out what you want with the REST OF YOUR FUCKING LIFE outside of this internet forum and car club… figure out what you have to do to get you there… and FOCUS ON THAT…
most of you guys, many of whom are good friends of mine, have no fucking clue about how to transition from adolescense into adulthood*. When you finally do figure that one out you will find that you care a whole bunch less about the retardly minor issues we’re dealing with on SON.
You will find that none of the more mature members care as much as the less mature members. The reason is because part of being mature is the ability to appropriately prioritize all aspects of your life.
*adolescense = (living at home, high school, hanging out at Tim hortons)
adulthood = (progressive careers, buying homes, starting families, travelling the world)
BTW, i’m actually not mad, i mean that criticism as advice. All too often i see 16-21 year old dudes making all these recommendations on a variety of subjects when their own lives are total chaos or at best, completely devoid of any type of certainty.
get your own shit in order… then tell others that their shit sucks. your concerns will carry more weight.

hey now whats wrong with young cats like myself were looking for a place to learn well atleast i was but i just found a bunch of ppl on these boreds are just a waste of space. like alot of knowledgeable people here but they dont really speak out for the most part son240sx is drama it kind of amuses me but when it gets down to it if you need a part u goto the parts wanted section and ussually you will get a response and dont say 15-16 year olds ruin this place because i know for a fact i have more experience than some guys here anyways i think fastback240 is saying everyone stfu and clean this thing up

SON240sx is the longest lasting and still the strongest 240sx forum / club in Canada. We’ve outlasted all competitors, will continue to do so and are more stable now from a management perspective than we ever have been and certainly more stable than all other competitive forums.
The only limiting factor is our chassis-specific nature. I don’t have a solution for that. However, i have been hearing that SON is the site for many discussions that other organizations would prefer to have on their forums eg. DMCC discussions among others… so obviously it is you guys who determine what the content is and what it’s about.
