Dear: deathproof001....

Whats the deal? Are you pissed off at the world today? Every thread I have gone into today that you have posted in is full insults and negativity from you to everyone. CHILL OUT.

It’s not reassuring to know so many of you stupid people drive like ass hats, I have no faith in the judgement of most of you.

YOU PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS!!

everyone bitches about the new sti, but what the hell happened to the evo. UGLY!
I don’t want either, but I’d rather have the sti.
the gtr is going to be a great performing car but not enough of a drivers car. I can’t imagine it’s an engaging car to drive, but the gtr is supposed to be a showcase of technology anyway.

We’re not going to fix these problems, we are going to act like we care.
The only reason I am slightly motivated to make a car that gets 100mpg(could easily be accomplished) and up, is because gas is getting relatively expensive, but you know what, FUCK IT, I can afford it and I’d rather try and pollute so much that this planet is forced to kill us all off.
We are people, WE SUCK, I’m trying to destroy the ozone because I want to die knowing this planet will continue on without human beings. Hopefully some normal type of life will adapt and live on, as long as it’s not people.

Sorry for the rant.

pms?

that tends to be the response from most of the members around here about any question.

pm’s or pms?? both could be applied here lol

wtf r u trying to say!! gtfo faggor, go diaf

roflol. I love deathproof101’s last quote there. haha

dear deathproof001 if you want to pollute m as much as possible, maybe you should buy a 2-stroke and ride it everywhere
or a lawn mower they pollute like hell

I love my deathproof… I’m doing my part with my 5.7L of furry. I think if you stand behind my car for about 2 minutes with a can you could possible collect 1 or 2 liters of fuel.

Also as much as I love life, I too hate society. There is a small part of me which would mind at all if the world collapsed into a Mad Max,28 days later, I am legend esk(?) structure.

Fucking negative Nancys.

Life ain’t that bad.

Oh, and no a 100mpg car could not be easily accomplished unless you radically change what we know as a “car.” It’d be tiny and slow. Plus someone would do it and sell a billion of them. Before you say that big oil pays people to not build them, at least put on your tinfoil hat first.

Actually my shop teacher Mr. Fini did this about 20 years ago. He has maybe 10 of his super cars. He has 3 jeeps and a mini home made corvette styled car. They are all powered but small (20-40hp) 4 stroke gas motors. He designed and patented a two speed CVT tranny, and generally uses a pinto rear end.

He also made some interesting electric hybrids. He would connect the output shaft of the gas motor directly to a electric motor. You start off with the e-motor, and there is a clutch you manually control that bump started the gas motor. When the gas motor is in use the car can travel up to 55mph and also uses the e-motor to re-charge the batteries. The e-motor is used at lower speeds generally. There is a battery meter that you have to watch, in order to trigger the gas motor then they are getting low.

He is a smart guy that the government screwed. They told him his cars couldn’t be sold mass market and pretty much with the help of big oil company’s money kept him down and unknown.

The cars only cost about 5-7K to build with all new parts. He drove to DC and back on one tank of gas and had more to go.

There has been a few article about him in Artvoice.

The government later offered him 2 million dollars to implement his designs into the hummer to extend its range and he told them to fu@k off.

Cool dude too. He plays the squeeze box and still has his 71’ gto he bought brand new.

Thats awesome.

That also doesn’t mean that its a viable car in the market. Those systems have to be subjected to every imaginable driving condition, terrain, crashing, near term relaiblility, etc…

There is alot more to bringing a new model to market then test driving it to DC.

Just sayin.

I hope you had your tinfoil hat on while writing that.

That’s about what I figured though. Small vehicle with a impractically tiny little motor relative to today’s standards. When you say “jeep” do you mean Wrangler style?

What exactly is a 2 speed continuously variable transmission?

All the cars where pretty small. The jeeps where like a wrangler style. Removable tops…I never actually saw how he made the trannys. He machined them himself…he just told me there were sort of a 2 speed CVT…? I’d assume there was some sort of vacuum that shifted from a low to a high mode?

Edit: I upgraded my tinfoil hat to a armadillo.

right, but why would you need two speeds in a constantly variable gear set?

Curious, not instigating.

Maybe the range of how variable it is, is actually limited?

I’d imagine the size of your cones limits you?

If they where infinitely variable you could keep your car at a set RPM and go 200 mph in the fastest way possible correct?

Maybe he had a really small pulley for accelerating and then rotated in a larger one for cruising? Like a 2 stage sort of deal.

The armadillo hat is brilliant!

give deathproof001 a break…he works like 50hrs a week on the nightshift at derrick. i cant imagine he gets much sleep.

we can just give him a break b/c he works there :gotme:

I actually work days now but at 5am, and more than 50 hrs a week, but that’s no biggie.

I’m actually glad some of my genius has been noticed.

And I don’t think life is bad, as humans we’re just anti-heros. It’s not just intelligence or character we lack, it’s wisdom, greater people than us have been pointing out our downfalls for thousands of years and yet we fail in progress.

All the technological progress we make usually sends us one extra step back.
