So I’m rolling down to work in typical e-thug style in the tercelica, mainly because I’m too cheap to put gas in any of my cars. And I end up behind a debadged Z24 cavalier at a light not thinking too much about it. So the light turns green, and he immediatly zooms off and gets into the other lane. Most likely due to intimidating fog lights mounted all over, and menacing racing stripes that would instill fear in the hearts of… someone. So the guy in the cavi slows down some, and I slowly start to crawl by. As I past the guy in the “Z” revs on me, and I’m laughing becuase someone actaully wants to race the mean-red machine. So we end up at a light he takes off agressively, and I putter along saving up my double-digit torque to unleash it later.
At this point the guy in the “Z” slows down and gets beside me, I hear another rev and the “Z” zooms(?) off showing he’s game. He does this a few more times, and then I’m like alright I’ll do it it’s not like I could break 55 unless I had a tailwind. So I waited for the next pull he was about to do. I left it in “D” and let the automagic do it’s worst. So I got WOT just before he does, unleashing all potential 50WHP to the ground through 4th gear. You could feel the ground shake as the tranny slipped, and hampster wheel roared. However I don’t think the guy in the cavi noticed becuase he just kept doing his usual pulling busses on me then letting off. I kept the throttle buried long enought to hit 52 or so giving the “Z” 4 runs against me without his actaully knowing that I’m racing him.
So here comes run number five, I slam the tranny into “2”, and we slow to 35 for the first time the guy in the “Z” knows I’m trying to race him now. I go first, pushing the pedal through the metal. Yeah can hear the engine strain as I break 40. He lets me have a car, then he goes WOT pulling a few zip codes on me in a matter of minutes.
After that he just kept doing his usual zooming(?) in front then slowing down for the next mile or so. And I’ll need to put a quart of oil or more in after work tonight. :tup:
