DOH:picard:
It’s what happens when you put 114 in your snowmobile that is supposed to run on 116:lol:
You should see the cylinder as well.
P.S sorry for shitty cell phone pic

At first I thought you mistyped “destination” then I continued to read, then I looked at the photo, and realized you meant Detonation. :picard:

the thing that sucks is I typed it out fast and didn’t even notice untill after I posted and for some reason I can never go back and edit my threads
10 extra seconds of proof reading and editing will certainly make you look like less of a functioning retard.

Yes, but this is an online car forum. It’s hard for me to go from this forum which is full of proof reading nazi’s to Cumminsforum.com which is full of rednecks who misspell almost every word.
Again let me appologize i’ll just have to set up spell check everytime I post then!

that looks more like a stuck ring or lean condition.
[/quote]
At first I would have though lean…but I was running jetting for winter weather so It could not be that…
Also the motor was almost warm to the touch so it had nothing to do with cooling…
a poor fuel or timing condition usually results in a hole through the center of the piston.
theres also no noticeable carbon in the center of the piston. which looks like a lubrication issue.
lubrication problems can make a ring stick & break off in a weak spot.
but anything can happen.
yea… your snowmobile shouldnt be on the edge where 114 will break it…
something else happened
The ± in gas is not that dead on into which 2 octane points would do that.

Actually it should be…
Although i’m not accusing the gas completly… it could be a number of things…as the sled was being rung out on a snocross track made out of woodchips
Detonation?? that looks like piston pieces/parts flopping around in the cylinder
is your sled 2 or 4 stroke?

How do you think they got there? That ringland probably broke under det and went for a ride in the cylinder.
looks like a 4 stroke if its what is in his pic. and i was wondering where you where racing with no snow…
did you ever consider the warmer climate?
even if its fuel injected, the ECU’s map is only so wide…
I’m going to guess and say that the section that broke was on the intake side?
This looks really familiar.

600cc 2 stroke…
keep in mind… compression is about 18:1.
and um, it’s not fuel injected nor oil injected. and the oil to gas ratio was correct.
We had it jetted for <30* weather, so there was no chance of being lean.

also… we have a custom radiator set up on the sled which keeps the motor nice and cool… like I said i was about 10 minutes into my moto and when i pulled off the motor was nearly touchable.(not hot)
