Haha yeah I know. It’s really a pretty nice package. Just being a jackass, as usual.
The worst part is, since I bought it in 05, i had seen one other black RLVue in the area.
Now there is a black, 05 RL about 6-8 houses away :bonk:
Can’t believe no one mentioned lug torque yet. That will warp a rotor way faster than brake heat. Torque them to spec with a torque wench in a star pattern. As much as I fought this rule from always being a “turn it until it’s tight” all my life tire changer, I am now a believer.
It could also be your pads leaving a deposit on the rotors when the car sits and the pads cool. All those areas of deposits grab differently and cause the pulsing feeling when braking. Less likely given that they weren’t the shit $15 pads though.
I’ve done the “give me the cheapest parts you have” brake jobs and there is definitely a difference in quality. I always go middle to better end of the spectrum now, and often buy from rockauto.com so I can get a good brand name at the same price as the crap eco-brand you would get from the local parts places.
I always torque my lugs.
Is that what they call it these days?
