Dial Indicator and in-lb dial torque wrench

I have a slight dilemma hoping some of you on here can help me out with. I need to purchase a dial style torque wrench and the smallest one from snap-on doesn’t go low enough for what i need to do.

The specs i need to measure are 7 in-lb to 29 in-lb… the smallest snap-on i can find ED1050 only goes from 10-50 in-lbs. FUCK.

Second I need a good dial indicator for measuring ring gear backlash with flexible stand. Theres a ton of them out there but i have no idea which one to buy and don’t want to get stuck with a dumper.

Thanks in advance.

I just pissed my pants :rofl

Not sure what range you need. Anything by Starrett, Mitutoyo or Brown & Sharpe is good shit. They come up on CL every once in while too.

I think HF sells 5lb tw, that is if you don’t mind it not being the best quality.

Dont think so

5ft lbs = 60in lbs

:lol oh. Then I am pretty sure HF don’t have those.

BADASS. THanks.

My micrometer sets are Starrett and mitutoyo i believe.

Starret indicator. nono on the flexible stand. get a quick release magnetic base with articulating arms. does little good if the stand moves on you while trying to take a reading.

torque wrench I have a digital snap on for the really low in-lbs readings. wasn’t cheap though.

badass. is that CDI Torque wrench any good?? I just don’t want some harbor freight shit.

Get a HF joint!!

What are you torquing to 5 in-lbs?
