Disposing of a shed, Amherst: Post 44 = new shed

Landscapers own houses too!

true lol, didn’t think about that, my cousin is one and his yard is ridiculous, although he lives somewhat out towards the wooded areas so he kinda went to town on it.

At one point 2/3’s of my backyard was a victorian garden type thing, with brick pathways and raised flowerbeds all over. I don’t think it had been touched in ten years when I moved in. I’m still defucking it. I’m going to pull up the last of the brick this year and get a couple yards of dirt delivered to fill it in.

And it’s done, minus reconnecting the electrical switches/outlets for the pool. Took 3 of us from 10am to 6pm to finish it with a good break for lunch. Pretty straight forward minus the roof support beams the instructions mentioned on page 10 but didn’t show installed until they magically appeared on page 15. About 20 minutes back tracking to get those put back in. Other than that it was a real good kit to put up. Going to need a little topsoil to grade around the new base and some grass seed. When I get the dirt I’ll pull up those pavers where the entry door to the old shed used to be.

looks pretty.

i’d turn it into a man cave, but thats up to you.

Not that I can tell how your yard is situated, but isnt that an odd place for a shed…so close to the house?

do you have power lines going through your back yard? from an earlier post it looks like it. I thought in the town of amherst, or maybe other towns as well, but you cant have a swimming pool if you have power lines going through your back yard. At least thats what a friend told me on why they couldn’t have a pool.

or is it like a distance thing, depending on how far away from the lines you put the pool?

i could be wrong but just wondering.

also the shed looks great!

Those aren’t power lines, they are cable lines AFIAK.

However, to answer your question, there has to be (i don’t know the exact figures) a certain degree of distance between your pool and the lines.

I think it was put in at the same time as the pool to be a pool house/shed. I debated moving it to the back corner of my lot but then I’d need another smaller building where the shed is to house the electrical for the pool pump/light anyway. Plus, like I said before, where it is now it gives some privacy to the pool since my neighbor has that little glassed in addition on the back corner of his house.

Yeah, there are lines running from the pole to the house. They are a pretty good distance from the pool though so I don’t see any reason they would be a hazard. The pool was installed by Majestic Pools and is on the official town survey so I know it was approved by building commissioner. The line on the shed side is just a phone line though. Since it hasn’t been used in over 3 years (I went VoIP for home phone) I’m debating yanking that line down. The low hanging line in the early pictures is the cable line, which I’ve been meaning to call TW about to have them take the slack out so it’s not so low.

thanks for answering. the backyard my friend had was long but narrow with the lines going long, so i knew that was a problem, but looking at your backyard in the pictures, it looks like a good distance from any line.

I am going to miss my pool this summer after moving. but good thing we got the lake in rushford.

coool

man, all that work and this big shed just for that 100pc mechanic set?

And two rubber bands. Don’t forget those. That’s why I went with the 8x10 not the 8x8.

Came out really nice. At least you do not have to worry about dry rot. How solid are those plastic pieces? Are the walls flimsy at all?

They have a little give but it’s pretty solid. If you’re looking for one I got it at BJ’s and they have one built in the store on Transit.

Mother’s day gift for my dad… Don’t ask lol.

Unless your dad had a sex change this is a very confusing statement.

Really, it’s confusing no matter what.

new shed looks good, as for the old one though i wouldve just set fire to it as it sat, no need for dismantling…

nice… I need to buy a shed like that at some point… I want to get anything gardening related out of my garage.

i doubt you can have a 8x10x6" building engulfed in flames in your backyard in the town of amherst
