plastic = weight
weight = going slower
Tried it. I would have to cut so much of the plastic, it would ruin the integrity of it and it would be flapping in the wind. Let alone the metal brackets behind it would have to go back in for the clips to snap in.
so To add to JnJ…
plastic = weight
metal brackets to hold plastic = more weight
more weight = more slow
1 thing to think about. the door bar is too low… I belive its either NHRA, or SCCA that you MUST have the bar between the shoulder and elbow. you bar looks way to low to pass that part of the tech inspection.
Yep, already looked into that…This SHOULD be an easy modification to the existing door bar. It has been done before with this style cage and the bars are easily removeable. Let me see if I can dig up a link…
:word: i was gonna say why not just start with the shoulder - down across- to floor like a reg 6 point, i mean it wont be eaiser to get in or out cause u still have to swing ur legs between the cage and the seat and the wheel.
:tup: …that actually is a very good picture of what I want to do. It will make the cage permanent So I am not ready to do it yet, becuase I need to make sure my mounting plates are legal too. I belive 6" is legal, hell, I may even have Hybrid weld it in.
:tup: yea im thinkin of the same idea, but not untill i get booted from a track.
