DIY: SS turbo lines/oil restrictor

Im going to be making my own turbo lines and was wondering about restrictors. Im running a 2871r on a s13 redtop that was plumbed with stock lines. i was told from various people that I need a restrictor for the oil but a fellow t28 owner tells me that there is no need for the restrictor (he’s not running one) seems to be fine. Anyone with some info would be great. If a restrictor is needed what size would it be. Also iirc that the stock banjos for the oil have a restrictor in them but i cant be too sure. Lastly what is the best way about upgrading your coolant lines?

Ill post some pics and part list from my little project if anyone really cares.

thanks guys

i searched this when i bought mine, some say its good to have but most say that if the feed line is like 3AN you don’t need a restricter.

Not 100% sure though, but thats what im doing

Best thing to do is hook up a oil pressure gauge to the end of the feed line and see what pressure you get. The turbo shouldn’t see more then 50 psi at high rpm and for ball bearing turbos its even less around 40psi . Most likely you will go over 50 psi even with a 3an line, so start trying different sized restrictors until you dont go above 50 psi.

We have all the fittings required to do this install, just let me know if you need something.

You do need an oil inlet restrictor. The T28/S14 SRs already have a restrictor in the banjo bolt IIRC

Cody, don’t be a homo… i’ll get you a set of lines with a restrictor.

since when does saving money mean homo lol i can make em for 100$ through bicknell.
