Yeaaaa when i was watching the “Pros” drift I was not impressed a lot of them wouldnt even be classified as pros. they looked like amateur drifters. im sure a lot of the amateurs were better then them. I had a good time but these pro drifters werent very impressive. I mean they almost collided with each other a few times, they smashed into barriers, and there was a tonnnnn of spin outs. Likeeeeeeeee how many zeroes were there at the start of the qualifying even after they had like tons of time to practice. Overall it was fun but could of been way better. I was lookin for bings booth but couldnt find it. I wanted to meet bing lol. Again couldnt seem to locate the booth.
With the car show… wow lots of shit cars. I was coming back in and i heard some guy same to his buddy yeee thats a berretta thats sick I was like wow thats extremely stupid. I was seeing what appeared to be stock pontiacs. Like ITS A DRIFT COMP! GET RID OF THE S**T FWD CARS. I was lookin forward to seeing like Supras, RX7s, Skylines, 240s, etc etc. Where were all the RWD cars? I saw the ones that Mitch brought and a few others… that was it. Drifting was decent and the car show was meh…

The drifting was very cool and it was a big improvment in my eyes over last year.
WTF is up with the weak ass car show? I never seen so many shit kicker, douche bag owning, hic fuck cars in my life. Serious on the outside part of the car show I might have seen 15 cars that looks nice. The Supra’s, RHD RX-7’s, 240sx and the Skylines were appealing. I have no problem with FWD cars (being a Honda Fan myself), but some of the crap that was out there was embarrassing. The car show promoters definitely need to be alot more selective in which cars they chose to be at the show. Car quality outside was a 2.5 out of 10
Don’t even get me started on the inside Hanger :mad:. The Nissan area was neat, but why did the other indoor area have sooooo many FWD cars? In my eyes everything single car in the hanger should have been a RWD or AWD drift oriented car. Not the bullshit Hondas and stuff. Why was SGR, Compression, International All-Stars inside the hanger and guys like Bings on the outside stuff in between a load of crappy cars…??? WTF is that shit, it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever…
I didn’t have any problems with the announcer. He was a bit loud, but that’s just my opinion.
The DVD girls were a little annoying, but I did support DMCC and buy a DVD from them. There were definitely some hot ass there
When are these promoters going to learn that in Toronto you need to adverstise and market properly if you ever want to get attendance numbers. I had tons of friends that would have came if they knew that DMCC was going on…

Dont get me wrong i dont have a problem with FWD cars either. I like Maximas and Sentras but when ur at a drfit competition I really dont want to see FWD cars. Especially Hondas etc
I bet you they just needed to fill in the space and saw random cars and asked them to be in the show.
I walked around for 5min and decided to save my enegery for the end of the night (wise choice as I almost lost my voice after yelling so damn hard at the Haig and Freddy battle). I just chilled at bings and sat on the big comfy couches. People asked if I was running the booth when bing left and I said yes, but when they asked prices I was like fuck…bing will be back in 5min lol.
the car show was basically its own separate event, with its own set of competitors, that happened to be taking place at the same time/location
they can’t just tell half the competitiors, who are participating in a full season of car shows and are in it for points, to not show up because it’s at a drift event

the drifting wasnt bad this year at all… the track was much improved. surface still had its issues… but at least the layout was much better this time around.
still glad i went and it was great seeing everyone,both on and off the track
oh AND … HUUGE applause to all the volunteers who worked their fuckn asses off, night and day, to make this event possible. you deserve a medal. thank you.
Since this has turned into a thread for suggestions here is ours. Our main concern is that Lighting needs to be improved for a night event. It was difficult for all the drivers to see where certain areas where compared to when practicing.
No excuses but the pros had the course changed on them 3+ times making it difficult for some people to adjust their driving. The pro’s were entering the first corner at 110km/h plus. Some people could handle it some people couldn’t.
i missed this show cuz of the shit dates fri??? most ppl work mon-fri.
i love watching s1dc crew more then the pros, cuz its make it or break it for these guys. most of them use these cars for dd’s. now thats talent.
for the rice car show what do u expect? more then half the public drive shit riced out cars.

Bing, I was looking for your booth all day, I had enough cash for a set of sway bars and wanted to inquire about some suspension components. When I heard you were there, I looked around, but couldn’t find the booth :(. Anyways, as promised…pics from DMCC, I took pics of almost everything, to give people who didn’t come out to the event, an idea of what was there and what it was like. My camera’s batteries died a little early on in the day (these S5’s go through them like nothing :p). Here they are…both drifting and show pics.

I had a Great timeat the event, I also could not find bings booth lol but i did’nt look to hard either though all the show cars,
from my point of view it was a good event the friday amature practice was a joke …i maybe got 6 laps in on the friday practice before qualifying…is not enough time at all all to learn all you can do with the course…saturday morning practice was a bit better but one thing really screwed us amatures over on saturday…Running the Compitition BEFORE the gates were posted to be open at 2 PM!!! …i had about 30 friends coming to watch me in the amature event and they all showed up when the flyer said but dident get to see me run 1 lap…it was really lame thats not a good way to treat the amatures in ontario at all!
also it would have been cool to run amature hand in hand with pros…for example…do amature top 16 elimination…then go to pros…do amature top 8 then do pros …all the way to the end…letting everyone see amature drivers…but i guess it might be confuseing to follow that …just an idea…
unorganised pits were annoying for amatures…next year that needs to be fixed…and so does security…so many people were sneaking into pits where they are not supposd to be ?
anyway over all i think the event was a sucess about the same lines as last year.
i had fun winning 2nd podium in 2 weekends espically this downsview event… i had a really great time
Wow, you have to be kidding :pat:, I didn’t even realize it. I walked by the Oni-JDM booth a couple of times and thought it was exclusively the Oni-JDM booth. My mistake , still doesn’t change the fact that I need sway bars though :p, I’ll PM you about those in a bit.

I think the announcer was pretty hilarious. The jokes he cracked were fuckn awesome. I had a good laughs with my buddies everytime he made a joke.
I think in order for DMCC to redeem themselves, they gotta bring in people from the USA, like D1 or FD. Maybe even Tsuchiya or Kazama from Japan.
I think what made the first DMCC so good, was the fact that they had Drift Alliance from the USA. They made the show awesome, with their demos and show off performances.
I notice that the marketing on it was really lacking. Maybe a radio commercial, or handing out flyers to restaurants so they can post it in the front door for people to see.
Also, in my opinion the track from last year was way better. You could actually see them coming at the crowd with high speed, and how early they were entering. I know this year because of the soccer field built they were very limited with their options.
I also agree with the Amateurs Exposure. The way things were scheduled, it seemed like DMCC wanted spectators to see the pro’s drifting. Many people I know that participated in the Amateur Competition, was so hyped up because they thought they would get alot of exposure.
I think DMCC is underestimating what the Amateurs can do. I think the Amateurs should of been able to drift the Pro Track Layout. In my opinion, the Amateurs is what makes the event DMCC. There are over 30+ cars that participate at Local DriftOps Practice events. I think if DMCC increases the practice time and exposure, more people will be encouraged to participate. Thus, making DMCC grow further.
