DMCC 2009

Do more with less

2009 Info Package online: http://driftmania.ca/documents/2009%20DMCC%20PREVIEW%20LIGHT.pdf

For all of us, 2009 will represent an undeniable challenge. But these harder times are also a great way to remind us how together, with hard work and “lots of support from each other”, we can make great success and more importantly, insure a prosper future.

Drift Mania will hold two separate Canadian professional drifting championships. DMCC East and DMCC West. Points will remain independent to each divisions, in order to keep traveling and ultimately the costs as low as possible.

On the West Coast, 4 events are set in stone. The first and last of the season will be held at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton (Alberta). In between those rounds, two more races will take place, one in Calgary and one on Victoria Island. The DMCC West Coast team will be led by Colin Reeves and backed by the DMCC East Coast crew, namely DMCC’s operation director, Kendrick Fong and Chief Steward, Seth Patterson. The main objective is to bring the West coast organizers, sponsors, drivers and fans up to speed with the East Coast. A two year time frame is planned to accomplish this goal.

On the East Coast, things are about to heat up like never before. Even though the word in order for 2009 is to do more with less, East Coast drivers and fans have shown incredible energy and devotion to the sports and despite the economy, DMCC wants to give more.

For starters, DMCC went out of their way to find new tracks, offering a new and larger public then ever, a different driving environment and overall feel. DMCC East will now visit two different tracks in the Québec City region. Montmagny Raceway will host round 1, while Riverside Speeday (namely St-Croix Autodrome), who under it’s new management has committed in redesigning a part of the track to make it a hi-speed drift friendly track, will host a later round. Two visits are also schedule at DMCC’s home track, St-Eustache Autodrome.

With a slower economy and the automotive/motorsport industry slowing down, this year will revolve around are ability to work together. Many more news on their way and will be displayed soon on the revised DMCC web site www.dmccdrift.com (almost complete)

Lookin forward to getting back out there and whoopin some ass!!!

^^Owned lol

hey Bing, we’ve been at the mercy of Downsview’s schedule. It can not be booked until august 1st this year, last year was 3 days before our event. Sorry man

Great news Kendrick!

I am looking extremely forward to competeing in the 2009 season of DMCC!

this is gonna be SICK

Oh my god, you guys didn’t check with Bing before you set the Downsview date? WTF.

lol casual

haha… i really think you should change it for me…

actually, if you guys all recall, i did make it to last year’s event depsite being in Montral the 4 days prior and right up until about 10 hours before the event… i had my company fly me back early specifically for DMCC… and now it looks like i’ll have to change my week around to be there again.

Kendrick… you probably dont know this yet, but i want to know the set up and start times on that saturday as early as possible. Coming in from Vancouver is a bit different than coming in from MTL.

Party at the bings booth!! Free coilovers!! :stuck_out_tongue: Lol - Martino

Based on the fact it will be a sat sunday event fri will most likely be media day, followed by a mid afternoon practice session on sat around noonish, sunday main event day should start somewhere around 11am. No confirmed schedule yet but thats how I see it in my head

I kinda liked the night event last year…it was pretty dope

I CANT WAIT!!!

sick!!! drifttttt.
anything pro am?

Sweet Kdog! cant wait for the season!

if we are going to be drifting at night in Downview, we NEED alot MORE lighting!!!

but looks awaome, looking forward to trying out the new track/event.

Keep up the good work DMCC.

True that!

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think watching Am’s drift is a little more exciting (of course watching the pro’s is pretty fakkin exciting too) but seeing people you most likely hang out with on a daily basis or snow drift in the winter improve and pull off shit you had no idea they could do… Is pretty sick.

So to repeat others: AM news?
