Do you drive a clunker?

which is funny cause the S54 M roadster/shoe qualifies

But yes, yes I do. How ever my parents neighbors 92 Cutless that leaks oil doesn’t… that is just stupid.

BS: I get better mpg in the S2000

Is my Neon a clunker? Yes.

Does it qualify? No.

:frowning:

hrm. It states my GSR gets 25mpg combined, but I haven’t gotten less than 28 combined with it ever.

And the only car I had which would have qualified was my bonneville, and I sold that not too long ago. Stupid me.

dealership I was at over the weekend said that with cash for clunkers, they were FIRM on price. They were avoiding taking clunkers, like the plague.

You’ll end up saving more money between taxes and haggling than you would with cash for clunkers + no haggling

Just remember people… the underlying bill was all about getting gas guzzlers off the road. They loosened the MPG requirements so more people could qualify and make it more of an auto stimulus bill, but this is still about MPG improvement.

Corvettes are not listed! I requested them to review and list corvettes though! haha

M3 = No

I wonder if a few months from now you’ll be able to sell your “clunker” outright for a decent premium since so many are getting destroyed by this program. There will always be a market for $2000-$4000 cars, especially in a shitty economy. With so many being scrapped there will probably be a shortage.

TRADING IN THE VAN!?!?!?

'97 328i actually gets 26 mpg but the rating is apparently 21. So no go here.

That point was actually made on the news a couple of nights ago. The used car dealers were complaining that the cars were having their engines destroyed when some of them were perfectly fine for a low income family.

For once in my life, it seems that they finally decided to do what’s good for the economy and not what is good for the dollar bills! A proud moment, indeed. I guess not all politicians are coming up with ideas to just make money!

After the program is over with watch dealerships slash $3500-4500 off the list prices because no ones going to be purchasing new cars afterwards and then people are going to kick themselves in the ass because they could of sold their clunker privately on top of getting the discount. At best dealerships are going to have to take trade-ins at the same cost or they just wont be making any sales.

Not a chance with my 40mpg in the civ. My old tercel was definitely a clunker but still wouldn’t qualify.

There are a number of dealerships matching the rebate anyway.
