If so, how?
I know you’re supposed to be listening for people trying to kill you. Just curious what you guys do?
I used an MP3 player a couple of times.
You can legally have one earphone in, but I’d be a bit concerned about getting sliced by a cord in a get-off. You can get wireless in-helmet setups, or a full-dresser with a stereo.
I never listened to anything but the wind and my own thoughts.
I often contemplated taking my ipod/earbuds with me when i go for long country rides…
but i actually really enjoy the sound of the engine, wind, and like Fry said, my own thoughts. I think music would take away from the enjoyment and be more of a distraction than it’s worth
I prefer to not listen to music but many of the people I ride with listen to music all the time.
One dude had a ipod shuffle velcro’d to his shoei, with the specific helmet headphones. It’s a pretty slick set-up.

I almost never ride without listening to music. I am able to control my iPod at stops and everything if need be as well.
I’ve never had a problem hearing other cars even with the music on. It puts me in the mood to ride.
How are you set up?

Yup. I run the cord down my sleeve and wear the iPod with an arm band on my forearm.
Never tried it but don’t care to either.
If you ride as much as I do, it’s definitely nice to have.

You should have seen the set-up this one kid had. He had the specific motorcycle headphones with the small ipod shuffle velcro’d to the bottom flat part of his helmet.
It was completely contained on his helmet, with no chords or fuss. Plus the ipod was incredibly accessible when he wanted to change songs.
listen to my hollowed out muffler FUCK YEAHHHHHH, but seriously id love to listen to my ipod, but the one time i tried the headphones kept coming out when i put on my helmet, FML!
i’d be scared to listen to anything. the last thing i want to do on a bike when all these batshit crazy people are around me is take away or diminish one of my senses
That’s actually what I was thinking… my ride to work will be an hour and I figure just costing for a while could get boring.
I was thinking of some sort of bluetooth setup.
That would be the one thing stopping me.
Once in a while i ride with my ipod, mostly on thruway rides.
iphone tucked in the front coat pocket, earbuds in the helmet, drop of silicone on the tip of the glove = good to go
