Do you think i could get 17000 for my car, in its current state???

Yes, I firmly agree.

Ive parted 95% of my stuff out and have made more than I wanted to selling my car running in tip top condition, and I still have ~$1000 to go

Parting out is awesome, it just takes some time

Good Luck

Now the boy is thinking…get an Elise Newman, or better yet, wait for the Exige in the fall…

SHHHHH

those will be the next EVO

Couldn’t agree more.

Theres a mathematical formula for this…take your total investment in the car…cut it in half…then take another 25% off for it being in a non running state and it should give you close to an asking price…not a what you will get for it, but a good asking price.

Do you have any suspension components or bigger brakes to go along with all the sweet engine shiz?

there is no respect in owning a car you didn’t build. lol at your old thread

i dont want respect. i just want fun.
i still stand by my original idea. I wouldn’t drive an elise for attention or to be cool, id drive it for fun. I just don’t like chauncers who buy respect or buy cool. thats weak.

correction, theres no respect in buying something already built and trying to pass it off as your own

theres no respec LOST if you buy it built, add your own touches / improvments , and give proprer credit where credit is due

if i bought something already built, id change some stuff to make it suit me better, and rock it like that

nothing wrong with doing that

The problem is, it’s $17,000 for a 1991 hatch.

Regardless of the parts and the work and the money into it, you are trying to sell to a VERY limited market. You would need to find the person that has that kind of change laying around, AND wants the same project.

It’s value may be up there, but it’s only worth what someone will pay. If you want it gone fast, you’re either going to have to get it running, or take a big hit on it. Just my $.005

Most people need to finance cars.
That is why I didn’t even get one single offer on mine.
No bank is going to finance after market parts.
The only slim chance is to have a car professionally appraised but your car is not even assembled.
I just don’t think anyone on the local forums has the cash.
ebay may be the way to go.

Navy Federal will, the just cut a blank pre-approved cashiers check, “not to exceede $XX,XXX.xx amount.”

I meant a car loan not a personal loan.
If they will give you a personal loan you probably already have enough cash.

If you have good credit, banks like Capital One, and MNBA will.(usually up to $5K more than your car is “worth” with decent rates too) You should recommend it to whomever is looking at your car.

X…

yea newman, you prolly are best off just parting shit out, then selling the shell for like 3000, i think youd get alot more that way, i dont think selling it as a whole with engine apart is rly an option, either finish it (ill help 4 free, well maybe for a maf :stuck_out_tongue: ) or part it all out, make up a whole list of your parts, and post it on 240sxforums, zilvia.net, ifx, dgtrials, roclife, son240sx, nico im sure youll get wat you paid because people will want to buy all those parts from you rather than over seas, they will save on shipping and wont take so long to get to them

Oh, so it’s not a car loan when I have to have a lein on the title?

Thanks try again.

I am surprised and I stand corrected.
It has been about 15 years since I got a car loan, I guess things have changed.:stuck_out_tongue:

Sure, but they won’t cut you a check for $12,000 more than the car is worth. The pre approved ammount is going to be fairly close to the blue book of said car. You won’t get a secured loan for $17k w/out $17k worth of collateral. :ugh:

i’d buy it for $12 rurnning.

using kbb.com as a tarded guide, you’d be lucky to get $4k selling it whole (I tried all the 91 240’s, fully loaded with 0 miles, and all trade-in/private-party/SRP options). IMO, your best option is to neuter the car and sell the balls. You might get around $15k total if you find enough suckers.

edit: but then again, you might get lucky and get some decent $$ selling it as a running work-in-progress.
