wow, I seem to have missed a lot. I can agree that a rwd/awd platform is outstanding to modify, but break it down further.

Honda is cheap to acquire and maintain, reliable as hell and can be made to handle very well, I do not however support any sort of turbo B series, anything over 260hp at the crank makes the car trash IMO, again IN MY OPINION…the biggest problem with hondas is the people who own them act like fucktards towards each other and it’s always a dick measuring contest over econoboxes. I seen the 240sx and miata arguments get brought in, I had a 240, wish I would have kept it, but the owners of 240s tend to be just as standoffish and fanboi’ish as honda people if not worse. A miata would be cool if everyone could fit in one correctly.

The whole point of the forum is for automotive enthusiasts as a group, everyone has an opinion but I see a ton of riced out 240s, 350s, miatas, etc…if it’s clean I like it, if its not then its gay regardless of what it is…

You don’t know what you are talking about unless you have extended experience behind the wheel of a sorted fwd car making power. Your average front wheel drive Honda on the street pump gas doesnt make enough torque for serious torque steer. If you are torque steering all over the place sub 450 wheel there is something wrong with your setup. Even at those power levels the powerband and torque is very manageable and IMO is much easier to drive at the limit than a high powered rwd turbo car.
I will say this… I could push my turbo EG at 440/270 much more comfortably on the street than I could my S2K which makes around the same power… street tire vs street tire. Going into a tight sweeper and laying into it with a laggy turbo rwd car making decent power you better have your diapers on and be ready… when the torque hits and the rear all of a sudden wants to come around two hands on the steering wheel. A sorted fwd car will be much easier to drive at the limit in that scenario. Keep in mind I am not a pro driver and this is only my opinion… but I am pretty comfortable in the S2K and I have seen civic taillights shrink in da twiztieZ. The rwd is more fun… and more slow. I had no real understeer issues with my EG and that was on bullshit KYBs and Ground Controls. You want understeer go drive a WRX.
My Evo VIII at 300 whp just springs and alignment was an amazing car handling wise… it was also boring and woulda got its ass handed to it by the EG on any road course. There is something to be said about a light competent tossable chassis with power… fwd or not. Especially when you are walking all over “superior” cars.
PS any FWD car other than a Honda is gay. :eekdance:

But srsly I loved my Maxima when I had it. I have never drove a really fast FWD car so I am unsure how they drive. I went on a few ridealongs that seemed kinda sketch though.

I started modding Hondas while I was in college trying to save $$ while still having a fun car that handles and is semi-quick, gets good fuel economy, parts are a dime a dozen, aftermarket support is abundant as is the knowledge base (boards, etc). And because I wanted to keep my money where it belongs- invested. It had nothing to do with whether I thought it was the “in” thing to do or not

I say let them do what they want to do. Some people can’t afford a nicer RWD car due to either school, age, or lack of money. A Nissan 240sx and a Mazda Miata are deff a way to start(if your into imports) with a RWD car, do simple mods to them then work your way up.
