say for whatever reason you decide to go to delta sonic or the like, do you tip the towel jockey? personally when i do go to them i dont even let them dry it with those towels, i just pull through.
Yes. They don’t even make minimum wage because they’re supposed to get tips.
they aren’t supposed to get anything. they are supposed to earn it.
Umm I meant if I let them dry my car off I tip them. Not saying you should if you drive past them obviously.
I tip them well.
depends… sometimes…if shes hot,she gets my number too
i tipped a bohemian dollar once cause the girl was cute and it’s all I had besides a 20… but they never dry cars very well
What’s a car wash?
sometimes i don’t feel like getting it dried, so i’ll just drive out without a dry…but usually tip $2 or $3.
lucky her.
I worked at delta… I would guess less than 25% of people tipped…
good rule of thumb:
small compact cars: tipping is discretionary
med size cars: $1-2
large cars/small suv: $1-3
large trucks/suv: $3-5
YOU try standing in a -20 windchill with your pants frozen solid up to your knees for 5-8 hours. It was fun during nice weather, but the winter SUCKED. Believe me, I earned every dollar.
Truth. I remember being stuck power washing when it was like -15 windchill and my pants were one solid piece of ice by the time I was done. Stupid Delta.
luckily the t/a doens’t fit through…
I know somebody that worked at delta sonic back in high school his feet were so cold one night in the winter he sprayed them with the hot water to keep them warm. That wasnt suck a good idea. I do tip though.
Yes, but I haven’t been to Delta in years. Not a fan of sandy brushes being slammed against my paint. If I’m too lazy/cold to do it myself I hit up the touchless laser wash and bring my microfiber drying towel to touch up what their giant hair dryer missed.
Yes, please tip them, Im also an ex delta worker. Even if its a buck, in quarters, its better than nothing, although its not like I remembered those that didnt tip, unless he was a usual suspect
and do not give a combination of dimes, nickles, pocketlint, pennies, paperclips ect… namely whatever you fished out of your cup holder. its insulting AND heavy lol
if its a dude, i give em a buck. if its a chick out there dryin, ill usually give her a couple bucks since shes actually out there workin in the cold. at dr huggs i dont tip because they include it in price of wash and they have two people drying. but i only go to car washes in winter with the blazer. in summer i wash myself.
i def tip 2 or 3 bux everytime esp if its real cold out
water spots vs. scratches when you don’t let them dry it…
but anyway… I tip when they don’t half ass it.
I worked at Delta for 3 days in the middle of winter a few years ago. In 4 hours I made $90. I don’t really feel all that bad.
