I wash my own car, they do a shit job anyways
yea i always tip, all though i almost never want my car dried but i feel like an asshole just driving thru… no one can ever dry my car right anyways so there is no point. Water pours out from the wing and the side mirrors all over the side of the car anyways.
I usually use the one at Millersport/N.Forest since it’s a block from work. There’s another at W.Klien/Hopkins but that one is out of order a lot. I haven’t been back there since the time the door opened up and just as I started to drive in the door closed, almost catching my front bumper. One more at Maple/Ayer.
And how well it work seems to depend a lot on how well you car is waxed. The GTO always has a good coat of wax and always comes out nice and clean. The truck doesn’t get waxed as much and I’ve noticed the touchless places don’t do real well on it.
dont go to delta. worst decision you could ever make for your cars paint
touchless laser wash and a MF towel after = win
Those kids are making 3 dollars and change an hour to stand outside regardless of weather conditions, if you don’t tip them you’re a cheap asshole. They’re working harder than and taking a lot more physical abuse than a waitor or waitress but i bet every one of you would tip after any meal out
Seriously spending that kind of coin on a car wash is dumb and lazy to me.
I spend 2.00-2.50 on a spray car wash, then dry it myself… or I drop 4 on the laser wash.
I would have to agree on the wax thing, the vette and the m both fair well when i take them through…but back at home when i’d take my trucks through it would leave them dirty still.
I always tip.
I tip them! It gets very very cold i used to work there. Its not bad when its slow enough to put your hands in your pocket to let them warm up. But after 3 cars in a row my hands were numb! Very cold, theres wind chill too! If you dont tip your a Asshole maybe you should see what its like first hand wiping off a car in that type of weather conditions.
I beleive most of them are Touchless now.
$2 or $3 here…
But dont feel bad if you dont… Me and my ex used to work at the williamsville location and they only let you dry for 4 hours per day… She would sometimes come home with $300+ cash in 4 hours! While I would be lucky to bring home $150…
SLUT
i have and i still think the detailing section was worse! i fucking hated sitting in the boiling sun doing vinyl, leather, waxes, and shampoos. i would work on 92 degree days in side a black car, with black leather interior with the sun shinning right in the windshield. then using steaming hot water for the shampoo and no a.c. because of the customers standing right over my shoulder.
did i mention we hardly got tips because they would tip you guys then come to us and give us nothing, or maybe 2$ for half hour of work done to there car.
edit: towards the end of when i was working there, we would have to go outside as well with cars to do all this shit to them in the middle of the winter.
