Have you ever been to Texas?
Yes.
But I was talking about the recent sales numbers… Not previous gens.
Aside from feeling every bump in the road and not being able to feel the air conditioning, hear the radio, or readjust my 6’1" body in the fixed back seat, I thought Renzo’s was super comfortable. You start sweating so bad while driving that you don’t need the AC. And it sounds like a homeless man molesting a half dead cat that was hit by a car, so you clearly wouldn’t want to listen to the radio anyways. Plus once your legs, ass, and back go numb from the seats you won’t need to readjust anyway.
Hopefully, though, you drive the car the way it was intended and realize it is quite possibly the most raw and visceral car you will ever drive. Then you will stop getting pedicures because you now know how to fuck a woman, chop down a tree, and make fire with your bare hands.
I used to dog on vipers for being a car for douches who wanted to show the world their douchliness. While I’m sure many men use them for that purpose, they are simply a phenomenal car to drive for people who truly like to drive.
Funny how they’re not selling then…
Oh wait, because most people who buy 6 figure toys don’t give a shit about domestic brands.
Frankly a Corvette delivers 85% of the performance at 60% of the price, and its also more comfortable and more fuel efficient.
I feel Dodge dropped the ball on the new Viper. They needed to give it more power. When the car originally came out, 450hp was killer. Now if you want to impress someone you better have over 800. They should have made it the V10 with a factory twin screw or twin turbos. Couple that with allowing people to tune the car and you’d sell a bunch.
I’d rather have a Gen IV ACR car then a Gen V. I also think the Gen II is the sexiest of them all.
I concur with Deathproof, Vipers are straight silly.

That’s one state vs the world…

Just finished MT’s comparisn of super cars (excluding Focus ST) and the new Viper was placed dead last, even against the focus. Due to delivering the car with unusable tires, loose drivers seat, etc, it was embarassing…
However fact is the Viper ACR still has the fastest track times of any production car in the world, I’m sure you’ll have fun talking all your shit when you’re looking at the tail lights of one.
Now $15k off!!
I searched and only found 1 unit locally. It is at Transitowne.

They had a blue one at the Mercedes dealer last month… not sure if that sold. They currently have a red one gen earlier than that model.
that Jalopnik piece is dead on… who would buy a viper when the Z06 is twice the car for 20% less money.
another reason why the Z06 should be more expensive…
You shut your mouth! lol Cars just keep going up and up. It’s actually nice to see a great car at a reasonable price
don’t worry Bing, I’m sure the Z06 will cost more in Canada

Let’s find out what’s really twice the money when actual comparison tests are done, I hate to say this being a GM employee but if you haven’t read recently, all the LT1s are having A LOT of crank failures, many of them have blown without finishing performance testing.

No matter how awesome the car is it’s still a Corvette. Whether 78k or 200k, park it next to the base model that’s 55k and you can’t tell the difference unless you pull out a magnifying glass. These things will be on every corner with 5 million owners in the next few years. So the extra price?? - Exclusivity.
That’s why a 96 Viper costs as much as a 2012 Vette, but if you’re okay with spending 80k+ to look like everyone else that’s your business. If I ever were lucky enough and successful enough to be able to drop 6 figs on a vehicle, the last thing I want is my neighbor making 20$ an hour owning one.
EDIT: should have included this but if the new Z06 performs like people expect, it’s 2x if not 3-4x the car for the money compared to a Ferrari/Lambo/Benz
You may say yeah but those are Exotics, where as the Viper is a Dodge. Maybe in the US the Viper is just a Dodge, but when I go overseas on vacation every year to visit, it’s always the same result, there are xxx number of English/Italian/French Exotic cars, and every European person is crowded around the Mustang, Vette, Camaro, and Viper. I guess it really depends on where you live in this world in terms of importance/baller status.
Park a base next to a z06 and it’s pretty obvious
The reason people think Corvettes are common is because they’re extremely common in Buffalo go any where else in the US and they’re not.
There is probably close to a years supply of them sitting on the ground right now. The problem is they sold 400 through July which is about 1 per month per state and I am sure warmer weather and stronger markets hold more of the inventory.

I don’t know that taking $15k off the sticker is going to help, they were offering strong incentives/rebates previously. Unless they are going to go strong on incentives as well.
It would be interesting to see how big a jump in sales they would see with an auto transmission.
OK I exaggerated a little but you know what I mean.
I’d have to respectfully disagree about your second statement. I travel mostly to South Florida, Nor/SoCal, Vegas, and NYC, and there they are… everywhere.
so question is, did you get one yet? lol
