Does road salt corrode metal below freezing?

If I am not mistaken you can have it sprayed for the winter somewhere.

Can anyone shed light on this? Places/cost.

carwell and some collision shop do it, but it washed off eassy. I have seen cars/trucks done and they have rust. My 14 dollar bucket of grease worked wonders.

i mistakenly put a small, stainless-stell spoon inside a jar containing salt.

well, it rusted.

Thanks, I should get on doing this myself. My car is on its second WNY winter and I can see the toll it is taking already. :frowning:

application process on the home job?

Axel grease, you can dilude with used engine oil to make it eassier to brush on with an old paint brush, so crazzy! On everything under the car i even stuffed in in my leaf springs. Also for your rockers, inner fenders and a truck the bed corners and up and around the wheel wells, ither wd40, any kind of spray on oil, or an old spray gun with used engine oil. DO NOT do this in your driveway! I usualy bring my air compressor to the street with my gun and spray oil every summer. Its better because the dirt from the road actualy helps it stick. None of our cars are rusty after years of just doing this to them. I was at the dealer today looking around, looked under 2006-2008 used cars and they all look like ass.

^ awesome, going to do that next year. What kind of spray gun do you use? Normal air paint sprayer?

Thanks man. Its 40ish outside this beatiful day and I am doing a full interior detail and an outside wash. Merry christmas too all.

Cheap sears bought spray gun (for cars). Does great, but like i said do it in the street and dont park your car or truck in your driveway for a good 2 weeks! I also wax it like 20 times in the summer. I dont actualy wash it durring winter, just a quick rinse. Actualy go nutty on it when the weather breaks.

20 times? what wax are you using?

I use everything im crazzy. Truck shines more then a new car. Rain just falls off the dam thing. Im crazy about my cars.

haha. I know what you mean. The snow just slides off my car due to the smooth paint/wax.
