Does this happen to anyone else?

I cant keep a gasket to stay together between my turbo and exhaust manifold. I tryed the thick slowboy steel gasket but it too blew apart. I dont see why this keeps happing to me. This gasket should hold more then 15psi on a 19c right? This last one didnt last 5,000 miles…

what are your EGT’s?

on my first tune my egts aproached lik 1550+ and i blew one out
but after my 2nd tune and got a new gasket (from turbonetics) i dident have problem with it my egts where @ 1475 peak!

turbo to downpipe-i went threw 3 last year.

copper is the best and hardest to get.

My EGTs are all normal and I have a good tune on wideband so Its not that…

I’ve never had a problem like that with a Mitsu. MLS gasket. :dunno:

I think I got one sit’n in my basement if you need another.

Is it the think steel kind? thats slightly ported?

Have you checked to see if your mating surfaces are perfectly flat? Perhaps one of them is slightly warped so you are not getting even pressure on the gasket.

most likely.

i’d use a firegasket… paper with a metal ring to seal… or just run no gasket.

never had a problem. i run the thick metal one from slowboy as well. like stated above maybe something is warped and not allowing it to seal properly

i never run a gasket between turbo and manifold. my shit is planned true. never warped.

for downpipe to turbine housing, same thing. no gasket.

Ehh, I think its just a stocker.

first off there’s no “positive pressure” on that gasket, 2nd it’s burning through because your shit aint straight /thread

here is a great copper gasket co.

im going back to all copper for turbo/downpipe/header ect

Using knockoff brand copper header gaskets. They worked well for me. :gome:
