Lancaster, NY (WBEN) - A young Cheektowaga woman is dead, and a young man from Lancaster fighting for his life, after a crash crash on Transit Road in Lancaster last night.
Town police say they are looking into reports that the driver was racing another car when he lost control, and the car skidded across four lanes of traffic, before slamming into a utility police.
The force of the crash split the car in half, ejecting both the driver and his female passenger. The unidentified 21-year-old woman was killed. The 24-year-old unnamed driver is in very serious condition at ECMC.
Going fast enough to spin across 4 lanes on a clear night and still break the car in half means they probably weren’t out for an evening cruise.
I wonder what a utility police is.

Tragedy on Transit Road after an alleged street race goes terribly wrong. It’s a story you’re seeing only on 7 News. The impact of the crash caused the car to split in half. Police say the driver, a 24 year old man from Lancaster, was speeding when he lost control of his car. The car then crossed over four lanes of traffic and hitting a power pole. The driver was flown to Erie County Medical Center where he is now in critical condition. The passenger, a 21 year old female from Cheektowaga was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lancaster police are looking into reports that the crash was the result of a drag race.

Yeah it does look like some sort of charge pipe/wastegate or something, but the stock exhaust leads me to believe otherwise.
