drifting with s13 vs. s14

I think its more that most people just dont have the money to have a separate drift car.

I had to drive down to ottawa to pick mine up i know how hard it is to find one haha…

As for having a seperate drift car, how does insurance work in that situation? Say you drive it to the track, wouldn’t it need to be insured and then you’re paying up the ass to insure two cars. Any way around that?

make your DD a truck and buy a trailer.

Wait till the summer, the market will pick up.

what made the AE86 a great drift car, sure as hell wasnt the ABS, airbags, better suspension and stiffer chassis. hell it had a live axle rear and body lean/roll. till 91 s13s had no ABS, +1 for drifting. any rwd car can drift but the ae86 and s13 are more back to basics driftin, cheaper 2. & driftin dds - well u know the car u drive daily & r more comfortable with it, so why not take it to its limits vs driftin sum dedicated drift car u drift a few days in a year. hell s13s r great winter cars, why do some ppl store it for winter? rust? if ur gonna crash it while driftin u can sort the rust out when u r doing body & paint work.

Did you get that black one that was up for sale on kijiji in Ottawa? For like 4500 or something?

I wanted it as a DD lol. Car looked SOOOOOOO hawt!!

No i got mine from autotrader bone stock in good shape, and it was the only one i could find at the time ahah.

Back to the insurance thing, is there a way to insure one car during the week and the other on weekends. Sounds stupid but has anyone tried that?

Wouldn’t that be convenient

There is such a thing as having a weekend/pleasure only car. You are limited to the amount of kilometers per year driven.

that’s why god invented plugs in the VSS wiring… and cluster swapping.

This went from drifting 240’s to scamming insurance company’s…ha

Ive drifted with both before and they are about the same …the S14 feels heavyer and has a bit less under steer some say s14 is better for drifting even but its lal up to the drive ide say there is no “better” car…

this is another SR vs KA-T thread, its all preference. But for my 2 cents i would rather crash a 2000 car than a 5-6,000 car. Shit i can crash 3 for one.

It’s all preference and essentially what you own at the time.

S13 Fastback > ALL

YUP ^^

To quote my wife “Isn’t it cooler to crash a nice car than a crappy car”

Yes dear, it is.

S14 > S13

I think s14’s are better, due to the fact that their is a 80% chance of you falling through the floor do to rust with an s13.

lol its definitely not cool to crash a expensive and nice car…
think of all the criticism the first people to crash the gtr get.

i find, when people start out with an s14… they bought it to look good, ride good and be their daily… when they want to drift, they trade their ka s14 for a clean s13 with an sr haha… but yeah…

now my question to you sir is,
is that what you’re doin cause i can see in your sig that the s14 is for sale =P

I for one wouldn’t flinch if my S13 were written off.

Whereas with my S14 kouki, if it were written off, I would either bootfuck the person responsible or break my hand punching the worthless heap of metal.

it goes back to what Osad said about North american views of their cars.

owning both, the S13 seems more willing to slide whereas the S14 feels reluctant (but can be influenced),

the again, my S13 has the Sr and the S14 could use some susp work…

What a waste of reading.

Booyaker!

S13FB For Life Yo!

Stop crashing all the nice ones into walls… you guys suck!
