I just wanted to know if there is more than the one drifting event in albeta. The one in calgary is the only one i know of. If there are anymore in alberta where are they and when do they take place and would it be posible to set one up in edmonton or someplace closer than calgary just rent a parkinglot like they do for the autocross events.
Yeah there are tons of people wanting to see drifting in Edmonton. We are working on some plans for the summer. :clap
hold up…its already under way
Im not sure who this is open to but Stratotech is holding one on july 10th
All it says is “D SPORT Drifting evet”
All you guys that are helping set up drifting, do you know the guys from Stratotech? I’d be interested to find out if they’d let people hot lap their course without drifting (not that I could anyway :D). Looks like they have a decent amount of runoff and the course would be fairly challenging…
YES! Oh man, now I’m stoked! Stratotech, as in the road course?? Even if it’s not the course I’m really excited.

Yes they do. Quite a few people ran lapping days there last year.
Just put your left foot into it and drift
I want to get somthing going here but noone wants to help. Takes more work than just renting a parking lot. Dumb city and their insurance policy
Not for those of us driving FWD sedans :cry
There is drift event being setup currently for Stratotech, and apparently every week. This has nothing to do with the NECC, but just some dude organizing it. I’ll let you know more when I hear more, if that happens to be before they start advertising.
Your car drifts when you push the clutch in? Bad ass!!! :partyman:
^^yes
called kicking the clutch, spinning the tires, throwing the car sideways and drifting…
I’m somehow doubting he was talking about a clutch kick.
Haha. Ya didnt mean it by the way you took it. I drift my civic by hiting the break in a corner while in power with my left foot causing the back end to slide out. FWD drift is fun just not as much counter steering is needed.
Any new info yet?
Oh, and to the drifters out there. What do you do for tire mounting? Pony up the dough, do it yourself or get it done free/cheap?
B-Wurm
Make friends at dealerships, collage, tire shops and do it your self. After a couple times it only takes like 10 mins to do all four.
Ok fellas, according to Mr. Dan Beith of Stratotech, information on the D Sport Event will be up on their website by March 25. :partyman:
B-Wurm
what is their website??? and any idea how much it will be???
thats so awsome you can definitly count me in for an event like this
