I just finished rebuilding my head, guides, seats and seals, and I just installed 950 FIC injectors. Everything else was in my previous setup. When I attempt to set my base timing I can do so with the jumper wire grounded and I can set it to 5degrees BTDC, but as soon as I disconnect the Jumper wire it is way out of time (extremely advanced). I burned a chip for 950 injectors other then that the maps have not been altered in any way. Any previous issues like this or any type of constructive information would be very helpful.
When I ground that wire to set my timing, The timing jumps right to 5degrees. When I pull the jumper off the timing will jump to 7degrees. Our cars are 5 (+/-2) btdc.
Unless your really really advanced that sound normal to me
exactly. ^^ what he said.
no its like 26 30 degrees off
id check out that chip you burned then.
I know it sounds stupid but maybe the timing light was not on the #1 cylinder. I doubt you made that mistake though.
