Sorry to hear about your car, my goals this year was to be able to stay up with your car lol and/or break into the 11s 
I Dont know what my future plans are for the car, but if it is indeed that the tranny is fucked and something that cannot be fixed easily internally i think i will get a built trans anyways. So we will see soon
I Never really did pulls on the highway, and i only raced once (well 4times lol) from 2nd gear, but i didnt grind a gear or miss any. And if i every did anything on the highway it was only one gear and done, and slow shift into the next gear
all this happening really seems to be a fluke, who knows
If you plan on keeping the car for the foreseeable future and plan on building it up more, than definitely get the most built tranny you can afford.
If you end up selling or parting the car, even used, a built tranny will net you some cash on the used tranny market. That’s one part that you can nearly break even on if you find the right person at the right time. (Someone in a pinch to get their car back on the road for example.)
Having a trans that you don’t have to worry about and can put lots of power through gives me piece of mind anyway.
