Hey guys was just lookin around the site saw this section an decided to make a thread for my car. I bought an 04.5 vw GLI in april. Since I’ve had it I cracked a hole in one rim which is now repaired, I snapped my dogbone in half also now repaired, and caught an exhaust leak in my car deleter when the dogbone snapped(fixiing in a few days) I don’t know the exact brands for every part unfortunately but here’s what’s in her.
Oem replacement dogbone with stage 2 bfi inserts

Milltek catback exhaust(I have a wicked tuning exhaust that needs to be customized to fit)

Shaved and modded front bumper(no front skirt + left and right vents deleted) plan on going back to stock, looks way better

not having the chrome on the front of the car kinda takes away just a little, it’s not a huge deal, but something that your eye just picks up on right away. still a very clean gli
I bought the car with the shaved front and lipless… I hate it it looks horrible along with the silver trim not there, its quiite expensive for a new front. I want thee stock front I love it.
As far as the shocker… that is originally a vw thing. Hondas stole our shit, they took the shocker the took their gay ass body kits off and went with lip kits or stock, they took air bags n lowered suspension with stretched tires, hoodless at shows rusted hoods roof racks.
@ bleez- there’s a good possibility? I got a friend who lives in lakeshore apartments. I cruz thru every now n again.
@st4tus- I’m not tryna argue about it bro. I really don’t care. If people don’t like it its fine, I take criticism prretty well. It comes down to the fact that it my car no one elses I like it that’s all that matters. I know its nice. Appreciation is always welcome as well as ppointers n tips, if you dislike simply say, I won’t mind. Everyone has different taste. I have many plans to change it soon as I’m makin the money. Right now I’m working on getting my exhaust fixed
I’m inclined to agree with him. While the Jap crowd was body kitting it up, the VAG group was stretching tires and slamming their cars out. This is just something I noticed. I started out on VW Vortex when I had my MK2 and then on to HT. Everything I see the Jap crowd doing now, I seen on VAG cars a long time ago.
And before both of these niche’s was the hot rod crowd which has done all of it already. So it really doesn’t matter lol.
Everyone has their own taste, man- I personally don’t care for the shaved bumper/grill/wheels/tails, but its your car. I never said anything about that…

Was irrelevant to cars at the time of origination, and has never/will never be “a VW thing” “gay ass body kits” : never JUST for hondas…Ive seen just as many ‘riced-out’ jettas as I have civics. Your jetta is one of them (sry, but it is) “lip kits or stock” : since when is a lip kit on a honda a ‘copy’ of VW styling…? “air bags n lowered suspension” : not sure where you are going with this. ‘air-bags’ as you put it, have been used since the 1940’s and originated on domestic vehicles.
& ‘lowered suspension’ had no manufacturer that it all began with…all these things you say are near impossible to be copied from one company to another :facepalm.
“stretched tires / rusted hood / hoodless / roofracks” : Again, trendy things that may have a large following with the VW scene, but definitely didn’t get stolen from VW by Honda drivers…
