I checked over my e brake switch like 3 times as well as the brake master cylinder sensor and they are both functioning fine. No burnt out bulds anywhere on the car, i cant figure out why it will never go off. It started coming on and off for 2 days then since then its been on. Any ideas as to what it may be?
with my old s14 the brake lines were starting to rot. my brake light would go on and off as well. my brakes felt fine for two weeks. until i lost brake pedal pressure. i would check over all your lines and see if there are any leaks. or even if your calipers are leaking. good luck.
Two common issues.
One…where the ebrake switch …check to see if that positive wire is grounding out
Two…check to see if the wire at the brake resivour is still connected.
Fluid level. Im sure you checked that.
Hey, it’s my best friend.
Is your alternator good? The e-brake bulb is part of the alt. circuit. How much voltage are you getting when it’s running?
If that’s the problem, I have an SR alt I’m about to throw away.
does your car have abs brakes if so, likely a wheel sensor is shot, Check brake fluids and switch first though, Low fluid wil turn the light on. E brake switch could be shorted out, Take the wire off the switch, if light stay’s off faulty E brake switch (Lacated in Cener Console). If light stay’s on touch wire to chassis, Does the light go off, (I can’t remember if its a ground swtch or not) If light goes off when wire touched to chassis switch is faulty.
