things that i have been told:
‘when you slow down the tires skid’
‘you over steer a lot more’
‘be careful in the rain’
‘you have to rev it really high to get the car moving’
I just want to know out of experience of people with welded diffs or people who have driven them what they think of these comments i have been getting. I am welded the diff no matter what but are these statements true…especially the tires skidding ans reving the car more?
Hello,
A welded dif just forces both wheels to constantly turn at the same speed. I don’t think that would cause you to skid when you slow down. Oversteering alot more could be true. Low speed turns suck with a welded diff. Since both wheels are forced to turn at the same speed, the inner tire might spin or hop. For that reason you definately have to be careful in the rain since the total traction available is less, the inner tire on the turn would be even more likely to spin. Having to rev it really high in order to get it moving doesn’t make any sense. Maybe if you were trying to start with the steering wheel fully turned. I hope that answers your questions and I am not giving you false info.
The car will understeer more…so power threw hard…pop the clutch do w/e you have to do to get the car sideways.
