welding diff

what oil do i use? what do i use for a new gasket?

just regular diff oil. and just put a bead of gasket sealer all the way around the diff cover

+2
what they said

thats a weird feeling when i drive around corners and try to do slow speed manouvers… like a pushing/binding… so i just dump the clutch and peel through it:D

welded will do that brah!

enjoy it. best thing you have done yet! lol

ya i drove for 6 months with a welded diff, my only thing is I was a little freeked to get caught by the cops. did once but said it was a sticky caliper… LOL

didnt realize it was illegal… well just add this one to the list!

I know this is a hella old thread but hows the tire wear when welding a diff? im thinking about doing mine but im not sure about it due to tires

wow, old thread… in one year DD that car i went through a set of rears a month, but i was street drifting aswell… i would expect under normal conditions if you take even right and left turns you would go through tires at least twice as fast as normal

if u wanna weld ur diff that means u want to drift… so chances are ull be wearing tires so fast by drifting u wont even notice the extra wear caused by the diff on day to day driving… so who cares really lol
