Electrical gremlins

Just curious if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Yesterday was not a good day. It started out with me getting a flat tire. I caught a screw in the shoulder of my tire (on my Spec rim) and it chewed up the inside sidewall. So instead of a $20 fix it’s a new $160 tire. Bad start.

Then my stereo and overhead/footwell lights quit working, and my dash clock resets when I open the drivers door. All this started at the same time. Fuses check out good. Sounds like a bad ground to me. Now where the hell do I start chasing this? I like to get my hands on anything mechanical, but I hate electrical stuff. I figure I better learn it at some point though.

BTW this is with my 240, not the Spec.

pm 1mns13 (jared) i think he fixed the clock problem on my gold s13 after i sold it to him, . i had the same problem in my 300 (z31) it turned out to be a bad ground, maybe the deck just isnt properly grounded…that would be the first place id check. probably didnt help much but its worth a try, also you can check the fuse on the back of the deck if you havent already done that already.

Yes, Jared is the wiring god.

Hmm… yeah I’ll PM him. I hope he can shed some light on this issue.

And yeah the deck is grounded. I checked that.

may seem stupi, but often it’s over looked…
Make sure your battery connections are clean and tight!!
Then check your main ground’s to the block and frame. Always the first place to start!!
If the fuses are fine, then that sugests no shorts. So As everyone else has said, I would check out the grounds, and the power, wires and connections.
