Hot rod test at your local CT
I doubt that’d work for a stock 240…
For a hot rod e-test you have to have a engine not available in the chassis that year with a different displacement. S13 with SR etc fall into hotrod cat. If you had a 93 civic si with a D16 and you swapped in a B16 you don’t fall into hotrod cat due to the engines having the same displacement. If you put a B18 you fall into hotrod.
displacement has nothing to do with it
^^ agreed, i used to have a b16 civic and i was tested underhot rod… i will be able to hot rod my 1990 with a dohc engine because 240’s never had a dohc in 1990 usdm.
and just go with your car… tell them to put it under hotrod class… it doesnt affect insurance either

Displacement has EVERYTHING to do with it smurf is absolutely correct if the displacement changes it qualifyes as a hotrod look it up in the book, i went to Nissan and they made them pull it out a few months ago.
I got my emssion license, I went to school for this, I got rules a regulations to follow I know these laws and rules, If I don’t It’s jail time. Protect air does not screw around. Every car that put on the emission dyno, the hp and torque numbers are taken, alond with weight etc and sent to protect air. If the number are not simular to other cars the same year and model it throws a red flag. If they keep seeing red flags they come for you, they won’t just come for you 1 or 2.
sorry shlammed, you still got a 2.4L you don’t fall into hotrod catigory. DOHC, SOHC, turbo, N/A they don’t care. It’s the displacment they care for.
