So yeah…I’ve had my winter Starion on the road since Tuesday afternoon, and travelled approximately 300 miles. Today, on my way back from a job interview, it began rapping pretty good. By the time I got home, the rear wheels tried locking up twice, but the inertia of the car and pavement broke it free. Pulling in the driveway it sounded like a hammer loosing its mind along with the squealing sound of a drill press tearing through a forged peice of steel (crankshaft). I didn’t pull over, because this car is a peice of crap, and I don’t really care. I’m gonna part out what I can, and haul it off to the junkyard. Looks like I get to fix the Neon a little sooner then expected. Oh well. The DMV must love me, always changing my registration.
Chassis is fair. Inside the wheel wells, there are holes showing inside the framework, and the passenger side frame rail is corroded moderately. The shocks are shot, brakes need alot of work, an the tranny mount is pretty much gone. It was just a beater, i was gonna slowly bring up to snuff, but it looks like it never made it. If any of you are interested in buying the car, throw me an offer. Would make a great RallyX car, thats what I was gonna do with it come springtime…
