Engine code jumper trick gone wrong!

ok so my brother has a 92 sonoma with a 2.5L 4 banger.

it was running crappy so he pulled the codes doin that jumper trick on the diagnostics plug. but first i accidentally put the prong in the upper left 2 holes instead of the upper right like I was supposed to(yes dumb i know)

we got the codes, then tried starting it, and it doesn’t even crank. no power is getting to the starter(well not that i can tell, i don’t have an ohmmeter)

what do u think could have happened when the the wrong holes were jumped? anything? we didn’t try to start it or anything while it was in there just had it in the run position.

any help on this? it’s urgent!

prob blew the ecu i did this a few weeks ago

check fuses get a voltmeter and just start touching fuses iam sure u got lucky and just blew a few

i checked all the fuses and they’re all fine. my bro is double checkin right now tho.

midgex - u blew the ECU by checkin codes the wrong way? are u serious?

actually but taking ecu out w/ batt plugged, in but i could see the same thing happening here

But if the ECU blew, i shouldnt still be able to check codes, and it’s still giving me codes.

Check to see if the starter relay is being triggered. You may have fried one of the quad driver module in the ECU
