Engine Service Soon light keeps coming on! Help

Hi guys,

I have a maxima SE 2001 just bought it from a dealer. Drove the car home from the lot and the orange light “service engine soon” came on.

Took it back to the dealership and they fixed it, but it came on again with in days.

Anyone know what the problem is?

you will have to get it scaned again while the service engine light is on. it should give you a code then that will tell you what the problem is. sounds to me that the dealer might have tried just reseting the cars computer turning the serivice engine light off hoping it wont light up again. you just cant tell what is wrong just by having the light turned on. it must be scanned!

get it scanned get the code post it up here and im sure one of the fellas on here can tell you what it is…plus you never know if dealer is trying to pull a fast one and cover sumn up…

is your gas cap tight?

goto part source, get the code pulled…

Take it back to the dealer and force them to fix it. They are not supposed to release a vehicle that is throwing CEL’s…
