It’s the same style and is nothing new. It’s a fad that people are copping to late model cars, trying to look retro or ratty. VW’s are doing it more and more too. With your theory about its made to stand out and be unique, I feel like its no different than a wacked out body kitted honda. Both will turn heads and make it stand out. How come people hate riced out shit like that but love this bmw?
If the owner took the time and sourced out authentic dilapidated parts, scrounged around and found some more unique parts that don’t belong on the car and integrated them in, and lost the damn wheels… i could see it fitting the bill. until then, it’s an imposture.
Its like if PJB put a pink polo on, popped his collar and fist pumped his way into the Jersey Shore cast. The real guido's wouldn’t accept him and they would know he was a fake... but to all the nut swingers watching the show, he would come across as the real deal.
