dude. now you need s14 calipers. different size and depth i think.
what’s an iirc?
Scotty gave me an OBX Fuel pressure regulator but said something about it needed to be threaded (tap-and-die kinda thing) but I think it’s too big. Where can I get a Nismo one?
If thats the case then I’ll get S13 ones for the front, have them drilled and sell the S14 ones
iirc = if i remember correctly
throw the obx one in the trash. get a nismo one on any nissan parts website. ie enjuku. heavythrottle, blah blah.
i dont mean to be a douche bag dude. but you really dont know what your doing. i would just save and have someone do it for you.
if i recall correctly
if i remember correctly
you prolly seen this before too
fwiw
Get the Nismo FPR, I’ve been running that with the Walbro and it’s been working real nice. Get a fuel pressure gauge too if you don’t have one or at least something to setup your Nismo FPR. Check out 240sxmotoring.com, their shipping is really quick since they are alot closer than any other Nissan performance place.
It came on my clip… and the company name was in this weird scribbly lettering some call Japanese, so I couldn’t read it!
As for S13 brakes, they’re poop dick. Don’t go back to them, they suck for anything more than stopping a KA-E automatic… just buy up some super-cheap S14 calipers, or get the right thing, 300ZX calipers, the conversion lines and a 300ZX brake master cylinder (known as a BMC). IF you can’t afford that stuff for at least the front of the car, then like I said before, a local yard by the name of WILLIAM’S JUNKYARD has an S14 in there with what you need.
I have a Z32 BMC but I spoke to a couple wheels dealers and they said the clearance needed for Z32 calipers (at least up front) is more than the 240 can offer. IE the wheel will be too wide for the wheel well. That’s why I’m sticking with the S14 upgrade.
Hey, Seamus, that’s why I asked you. Cuz I know I don’t know much about this car. And no offense taken. But I’m pretty positive I could install an FPR on this motor…give me some credit. I mean, I did the water pump myself, didn’t I?
Here’s the FMIC installed, y’all. And a couple issues associated with it:
1.) The fans need to always be on since the FMIC is absorbing all the air
2.) Lost a psi (but I knew that was gonna happen)
3.) The BOV is working harder now. It makes all kinds of noise, even at cruising speed when I let go of the accelerator.
Also, this blue hose is incorrectly hooked up, I’m sure of it, but I have no ide where either line is supposed to lead. The one under the TB spews oil. Anyone who knows this motor in stock form (ahem), if you could please point me in the right direction, that would help.
Oh, one more thing. I hooked up the tach. I was spinning it up to just over 9K before (yikes) I hooked it up. But the redline still takes forever to come, and the idle (when it idles properly, anyways) is 2100 rpms. Any lower and the car spits and sputters. Any suggestions?
I want to get the valve cover gaskets replaced. But I figure that is the perfect time to get them colored. Anyone know of a place that will anodize them purple for me? I don’t want to powder them. I want them to match the “clear purple” look that HKS offers on their products.
I believe it goes to the charcoal canister for your fuel vapors. You should have 2 lines going to the canister. One is to control the valve on the canister and the other is to release the gas vapor into your intake.
Your tach wil be off unless you have it modified for the 6 cylinder input, so otherwise you will be all haywire. I’ve heard of some dudes soldering a 10k ohm resistor between pin 7 and pin 45 of the ecu connector (ignition power and tach signal) but I don’t know how well that works.
300ZX brakes will even clear stock wheels if you shave Nissan off of them, I don’t know who told you that false info. If you have at least a 42mm offset (If I recall correctly, maybe its even higher yet?), you’re good.
lol, because your 240 runs so well
He might not knowing what he is doing, but your not going to learn letting other people do your shit for you.
amen.
NICOclub and FreshAlloy ftmfw!
that z32 caliper requiring wheels to big thing is total bullshit.
Who ever told you that is a complete moron
you just need wheels that can clear huge calipers. Hell my sportmax would clear and fit your car.
Don’t talk to wheel dealers talk to people who track their nissans.
Freshalloy is a good site. Nico is 50% bullshit and 50% useful. Also try Zilvia for good information. VERY VERY helpful for wheel fitment and more technical information.
I use Discount Tire Direct…
Oh, guess what ya’ll??
4thousand-ish miles, 5 months of driving, and a 5 month park, and I all of a sudden have a blown head gasket. Or warped head. If the head is warped I’m gonna sell. I have a 1.2mm Cometic on the way but this is gonna take the most of July out of me. Anyone ever rip one of these motors apart and have some advice?
I got a sr20 you could drop in or a ka setup?
Ouch, I never did any internal engine work, but I’ll give you a hand. Should have my car on the road late next week. You should be able to follow the FSM and just get all the correct tools and torque to spec.
IF the head is warped its not worth rebuilding. Such a damn headache.
Pulling the head is super easy though. don’t be scared its just time consuming cause you have to take a bunch of crap apart.
Make sure you know your tq specs on reassembly.
If it is warped just buy a damn KA. KA-t cheap, easy, reliable.
WIN
Can you get the head and/or block resurfaced? Or you could probably get another head on NICO.
