Err now need work boots.

iv had my red wings for about a year.just changed the soles and they should be good for another. If you get redwings just make sure you dont get ones with a stitching type on the top.Iv had that type fall apart in under a year.

I get the Herman Survivors At wal-mart for like 45 bucks

Last about a year before something wears out.

Waterproof, non steel toe, and comfortable.

I also use Magnum boots and love them.

well, If the boots are right I’ll spend the money.
I will buy nothing from walmart.
I live on a small farm, im working at work then out on the tractor, mud, woods on the wheeler on bikes, plowing snow ect.
I’m finding something tomorrow. 15 hours of wet feet sucked today.

Red Wingsssssssss, Best pair of boots I have ever bought.

I Used to pay out the ass for redwings.

Than i quickly learned the faults of working in a machine shop. Every day it was like walking on crushed glass. Within six months the soles were so cut up there was barely anything left. So i said hell with it and started buying the Brahma brand at at walmart.

Actually bought these exact boots

Comfy and cheap, and they last as long as the Redwings

love my Bates

Red Wings and nothing else.

maybe you bought a pair of Red Wings that were not intended for the abuse of a machine shop? I used to work at a machine shop that was all manual machines without guards. So everything went on the floor. The shop repaired parts for drag lines so everything was HUGE…like 50 ton huge. A pair of walmart boots wouldnt last for more than a month, but the red wings lasted over a year. Now i buy nothing but.

Get a pair of timberland pro’s at burlington coat factory.

They’re durable and are super comfy!

Nope

So did I, Unfortunately, I worked on a 1950 Froreip VTL, running parts in excess of 75- 80 inches in dia. (full swing on machine is well over 110"). Hot steel chips were on the floor constantly, cutting the boots, no matter how much i swept it didnt help.

I can honestly say they lasted the about the same time for me :gotme: Maybe it was becuase i was only turning parts in excess of 2-3 tons? :stuck_out_tongue:

I was at Kmart one day and noticed they had what looked like pretty nice craftsman boots. Usually on sale for buy one get one half off.

where do I find red wings?

EDIT: The boost, I don’t fly red wings

There is a redwing store on transit in depew, a store in warsaw and that lockport outdoor store advertises them on their comercial.

where did you work? Nuttall Gear?

Cheap walmart boots every day for the last 11 years. I buy a new pair every 6 months or so. I would like to try red wings

The Walmart boots – cheap or expensive ($55), go a LONG way. I have been using my same tan steel toe waterproof for work since winter 2006. Just bought another pair the other day for everyday use

das boot

i bought mine from dicks:

I personally HATE the “platform” style or whatever with the flat heel, i always get one with a curve

I’m going to stop at the red wing store tonight and see what the hype is about.
Worth a try, I had my magnums for a year and a half and got my money back in my accout so i cant complain about there service.

Richards Machine Tool Co.

Basically a big job shop, but we had BIG machines and a 20 ton overhead crane. It was actually pretty fun working there. Random jobs kept you on your toes, thinking, and kept you interested. Allot better than some of the P.H.D shops I worked in (Push Here Dummy) :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: it was on Walden Ave. In Lancaster. Right Next too HC brill. Unfortunately I’m laid off right now due too lack of work flow, so I’m taking the opportunity too go back to school with my free time. If anybody gets a chance too work there I highly recommend it. Denny is a crazy ol bastard, but hes a good fair guy and great too work for. That and he knows his shit and hes always willing to teach as long as your willing too listen.
