My current boss used to work at Richards. There are only a few places in this area capable of machining parts weighing 2-3 tons and I work for one of them (http://www.snyderindustriesinc.com/). Was just curious which one you worked at.
Pete Valentie?
And yeah Ol Denny and Tom are good buddies
Edit: FML i had no idea Snyder’s shop was so damn clean. Denny’s place is a like a cave, he cuts so much ductile cast and that fuckin dust goes everywhere. And he refuses to hire a cleaning crew
got some redwings, not impressed I’ll see how it goes after being in them for 15 hours today
I find it ironic/funny that nobody cares where their work boots are made.
Their motto should be “Taking the work right out from under your feet”.
Here is a fun litle factoid… ready?.. are you sure?..
51,000 plants in the USA have closed in the USA in recent years.
Lets not turn this into politics BS.
These redwings suck, they are going back. What ever that round bone in your ankel is, is going to have blister on it by the end of the day. Screw these things. Next?
Sounds like you need a pair that fit you
Either way i’m going back to the store, for now I’ll deal with wet feet.
the goretex Wolverine boots i wear on occasion are US made, some are made in china though. all of my old military boots were US made, it is required to wear only US made service boots. though some people don’t care and it’s not typically enforced. my Doc’s are UK made (pre-Nike buyout) my Grinder steel caps are UK made. my Matterhorn’s are US made along with a few pair of Cocorans.
I have an old pair of grip fast that I prefer to Docs. Docs are not comfortable at all and lack any and all ankle support. I just walked about 10 miles over the last two days in my Brahma Swat boots, they are steel toe. all in all not too bad. I would still prefer to have something that would last a little longer.
I forgot Pete worked for Richards too…he is our shop floor inspector. I work in the engineering department and my boss is Dave Pouliot. We moved into this building a few years ago and Tom has been pretty anal about keeping the place looking top notch. The shops appearance goes a long way when walking customers through. It has helped us contract work from big operations like Komatsu.
Next time ya see Pete, tell Him Big Mike who ran the Froreip said Hi, and congrats on gettin out when he did, RMTC is sinking fast unless Denny can find some new jobs.
