I’m sure the Evo is great in the snow, but honestly, you want something with a linear power delievery (also can be read as : non turbo, or really small turbo) and less power.
That makes things a lot more controlable.
That being said :
Audi A4 as a winter car would be hot also

Meh, that isn’t much a concern if you have any ability to control throttle.
However, when it comes to an AWD system, Quattro > Mitsu.
Quattro > Mitsu $$$ wise as well. I never got stuck, could do sweet donuts, and nice contolled slides whenever and wherever I wanted. It as cheap too.
Betcha can get the Audi with heated seats too! I love mine on a cold day.
